i think a lot of people had this idea during the housing boom. it will be interesting to see how they stand up in this economy.

Yes. And it sounds a little "theoretical" to me; not sure how a lot of those ideologies will stand up in real life.

I suspect a lot of communities try this when they're dying out in an attempt to attract real estate money.

I saw a fellow on Colbert the other day who was Mayor of a town that was offering itself up for "experiments." Sounded sort of weird to me.
