Food and Wine Expo

yay

My (hopefully) future wife and I are going to Disney in September (yes.. hoping to ask her there during our 'adult' trip) specifically because of the Food and Wine Expo. DVC member staying at the Polynesian (wait listed for the Boardwalk I think)

It looks like there is a lot to experience at the Expo.. what expert tips do you have? For example.. I have the Disney Visa.. and I know how to use it.. including access to special Character Greeting lines and the beverage room at Epcot during the Expo.

date How can we make our longest date that much more awesome???

Watch for the kiosk menu release. And study. I really can't see how you could possibly taste everything, so you'll want to prioritize. We found last year that 4-5 samples was enough to make a "meal". We're from up north in the cold like you are (though slightly further south--PA) and when I'm walking around in the heat at WDW, I find that my appetite is much smaller than normal.

I too, have the Disney Visa, and I also know how to use it!! $$ biggrin $$
Welcome to WDWFGU welcome We are full of wisdom and laughs laugh

How romantic to propose at WDW....do you have a plan?

My first stay at Polynesian DVC is coming up, checking in on 05/18. While Boardwalk is very nice, I am guessing that a lot of people here will advise you to keep that Poly reservation because it is much more romantic than Boardwalk!

In addition to Food & Wine, (which is amazing) there is also Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It is so much fun and is one of the few times of the year that adults can dress up while in the Magic Kingdom. It is held two or three times a week during Sept & Oct.

Have fun planning! stars

We LOVE Food & Wine Festival! I agree with alicemouse, definitely check out the menus once they are released and prioritize what you want to try. If you wait until you get there you might fill up on the first booths you hit and miss out on some of the best things! And I agree, while Boardwalk would be great for F&WF proximity, I'd stick with the Poly if you're popping the question this trip. Much more romantic! congrats on the pending engagement!

Agree..We done our first October trip last year..Us Scots are not really into the Halloween thing but we did buy MNSSHP tickets, but the highlight was F&W...Our favourite booths were Africa ( beef tenderloin ) Italy ( filetto di pollo ) Patagonia ( beef empanadas ) yummy...I know where our snack credits are getting used next year... awesome

Food & Wine Festive is really fine and adds a little more to a great round the world experience. Definitely, definitely look at the menus when they are released(trying not to drool on iPad like I do) and plan what you really want to try. As Allie and Alicemouse said it's easy to get full up before you reach the end and maybe miss something else good. So far booth highlights for me over the years have been spicy sushi from Japan, steak taco from Mexico, an amazing sausage from New Zeland, pork buns in China, tuna poke from Hawaii and got to try the cheese and bacon soup from Canada without having to spend 2creds to eat it at Le Cellier. Well worth the visit.

Also MNSSHP is a blast. A spooky castle show, character villains you don't normally meet, other characters in 'alternative' costumes, the parade, and best of all.......... The Haunted Mansion CM's go all out and make it even better. We always go 'Trick or Treating' around the park, I normally give half of the loot to my brother when we get back home as he love American candy.

Watchmaker.. I LOVE Scotland. I miss Glasgow the most...

I took my daughter to MNSSHP a few years back and had a wonderful time. Dressed as Jack Skellington and Sally. We had a wonderfully amazing time. However, Barbara and I may just skip the party.. we'll see.

Thanks for the food suggestions... Can't wait to see the menu.
