Getting Ready for the Holidays around WDW and at the Grand Floridian

I wanted to share this video today that I found on Disney Parks Blog. Any backstage look at the magic is always fun, but I especially love the peak inside the Grand Floridian pastry kitchens. They remind me so much of the Contemporary! Every so often, I get a little homesick for that job...and Christmas is probably the time it most happens!

Enjoy this peak at the magic mickey

Decorating the trees at Disney would be such a cool job.

I've got to admit that being a Holiday decorator at Disney World would not be a bad job at all..but I wonder if you would be resistant to decorate your own home?

How cool! When I retire to Disney, this is what I envision Joe doing. So as to support my bad Disney habits.

It's going to get down to the low 40's in Charlotte tonight...so I decided that in order to show my support for Disney's 40th birthday, I put the Christmas green & red Mickey peppermint swirls flannel sheets on the bed tonight.

Can't wait to see the surprised look on Joe's face tonight when he sees that! Hee hee hee!! Bella, you may hear his scream all the way down in your neck of the woods....

Hey, he said I could not get out the Christmas decorations...I certainly don't see sheets as decorations, do you?? biggrin

Sheets don't count as decorations in my book.

Nope, you should be good there Jeff, I don't consider them decorations either.

Do it! Start sneaking stuff out! Smile Confession: DD loves a certain Christmas CD. And it's already made an appearance.

I got a tour of floral while I was down there and everyone working on the Xmas Trees seemed to be having a GREAT time! There was holiday music playing on the overhead and they were all very friendly. Did you know that Disney Floral and Gifts will ship a small decorated tree (about 3 ft tall) to your house? This year they're flocked with red and white ornaments that are a little old fashioned looking. Very cute!

Sadly it is not. I got very lucky with a special press tour. My husband keeps teasing me that I haven't talked about anything else since.

That's what that noise was!

Sheets are NOT decorations. They are a necessity of life.
