Getting Your "Money's Worth"

Do you ever feel like you're not getting your money's worth if you don't stay active at Disney every day? Is there a weird tugging in your pocket that makes you want to do Parks all trip long from open to close? If that just because you love the Parks, or is it more about getting your money's worth out of your trip?

I accepted a long time ago that Disney is expensive, but I don't feel like I have to be going 100 miles an hour at Disney. What do you feel you need to "get" your money's worth out of a trip?

It's about the parks, it's always been about the parks, it will always be about the parks. If I don't spend the majority of my time in the parks then I feel like and am wasting my money. I don't mind spending some time at the resort, but I'm not going to waste half a day sitting around the pool. Disney Springs is OK (it ain't Pleasure Island) but again I'm not going to spend a lot of time at what is a glorified outside mall. Having said that, we may not be there at rope drop or stay until after closing. But I'm going to spend most of the day in one or more of the parks.

I think it's changes alot for us. At first we were park commandos - there at rope drop and stay fairly late. It was all about the cost - if we took a break and went back to the room to nap or resort hopped for too long we felt were wasting money. Yes the resorts are near but yep, all about the parks. Rides, shows, yada yada. Pools.were.nice to refresh But we couldn't lounge around.

But now as passholders it doesn't take much to feel like we're getting our money's worth. So we can take a much more relaxed approach. But most of our time is at a park.

And same thoughts on DS - Ok and nice if we are blocked out of a park but not really our thing. Off used to be alot more fun for us when it was more Disney.

And on a final note, we (ok, I) lasted exactly 1 week as a non passholder. We renewed today. The 15% discount made it cheaper than what we paid last year, even with the price increase and taxes. So....... yay

I feel like most people get a vacation package but don't take full advantage of non-park things. I really think people should leave a at least 1 day, maybe 2 days to relax at the hotel. Too many people spend their whole 7 day vacation (except the days they travel) at the parks from park open to park close. Most hotels have so much to explore and do that most people just miss it all.

Perhaps you should visit the parks sometime from May18-24. Just to make sure your passes work wink

Having the annual pass really does take the "pressure" off. What is more pressure for me is the number of days we have, it never seems like enough. Trying to get as much Disney was we can in the short number of days we are there is the struggle. Just once I would like two full weeks of a vacation.

I was going to say the exact same thing. It's not as much about as getting my money's worth but my time's worth. I always WANT to have resort days and my daughter loves the pools probably more then anything else, but there is just too much draw to fit in as many experiences as we can!

Well Jeff, there is the answer to my question in the Space themed restaurant thread laugh laugh

I will be there a week in July alone (well, Blondie has golf camp but my days will be lonely)... just sayin

I agree with being AP holders, we have slowed down A LOT!!!

I love visiting the resorts, just hanging out at a lounge for a couple hours (in or out of a park), Disney SPrings just walking around listening to live music and such and so much more. As long as I am not home and having fun, I think I've gotten my moneys worth!
