Anyone ever visited the World or gone on a cruise with another couple? Sounds fraught with peril, but I see people do it.
Going To Disney World With Another Couple?
We haven't, but we have met up with friends and relatives in the World. It's a really fun experience to share with like-minded folks that you may not know very well in the Disney context. People are different at Disney World!
Cripes, I can hardly stand going with extended family, no way would I go with nother couple
Updates while we're there and trip reports >> Disney Vacation Trip Reports

Been to WDW with another couple once, have sailed with another couple twice. Different couples on the WDW and cruise, but the same couple both times with the cruise.
The secret is to having some space between you and the others. Don't feel like you have to be tied to them all the time.
On the WDW trip we were only there for three nights together, and we got our guests a studio at OKW. Same for us. We only had three days to be together and we hit the highlights and had a ball. The OTHER secret is if you can step back and make sure you are receptive to things that might not normally be your preference. (IE.. let the OTHER folks make some of the decisions)
On the cruise, we've cruised with an English couple that we met on yet ANOTHER cruise. Same thing here. We meet up for meals, special events, etc., but during the day we might never see them. They do their own shore excursions, etc. Its kind of fun to get together with friends at the end of the day and see what they did and swap stories.
Again, if you set yourself up to being stuck with other people, you are inviting problems. Give everyone lots of space and it can be a great experience.

When you stayed at OKW did you guys have all/some/none of your meals together?

I'm pretty sure on that trip we did just about everything together, including meals, park visits, etc. They were friends of ours from this area and we specifically went on this trip to enjoy the Disney experience together.
We stayed for the three nights, then left and they stayed on.
It all went well, but we were all Disney nuts. I can imagine a lot of OTHER friends we have where things might not go as smoothly.

I guess for 3 days I could hang out together, but any longer than that and we'd definitely need some alone time.

On one of the sailings, we had cabins next door to each other, and we'd go all day without seeing them.
We have another couple that we've sailed with who have a really fun tradition. Each year on the day and month corresponding to the year they are in, they travel someplace really unique.
IE.. 01/01/01, 02/02/02, etc..
They've been to places like Australia on that date, and the summer Disney sailed the Med, they managed to get off the ship and be at the Eiffel Tower on 07/07/07.
I got an email from them this morning about their latest adventure. They're going on a Scandanavian Cruise this fall. Sounds like a blast.
(I think they've got a printing press in their basement and print money...)

They're going to be in trouble in 2013.
They're going to be in trouble in 2013.
Whew. That'll probably short circuit their brains!
