Golf Camp Live Trip Report

Well I haven't done this in a long time. A pre-trip trip report! I've been suffering so pretty serious Disney depression lately and planning is not helping like it usually does. I just want to be there.

So golf camp will be a little different this year. Joe is going to Scotland for a guys golf trip so it will be just me and Blondie. We will miss Joe but we will still have tons of fun without him.

So Blondie is 12 now and this will be her 4th year with Coach Mike whom we love! I thought 13 was the cut off and next year would be our last but it is 17 so YAY!!! It's hot but we always have so much fun.

I am 40....... something this year and already a bit stressed about being alone lol. Joe always gets her to camp and I do my own thing with tons of time. He even gets her most days and they meet me where ever I may be. So I will be getting her there and picking her up.

If this is scatterbrained I am sorry, I'm watching Tim Tracker's live Galaxy's Edge feed as I am typing LOL

So loose plans as they stand. Blondie's AP expires on the 31st and I haven't renewed it yet. So I only made FP for the first few days.

I have not decided if we are driving halfway down Friday after work or if we will get up at the crack of dawn and drive down. We will take tons of snacks and drinks along with breakfast stuff since she has to be at the course early.

Borrowing from Ali, All new stuff will be in bold. awesome

Saturday Arrival Day Check in to Pop Century
We will be heading to Epcot this evening. Dinner will be at Teppen Edo unless the new restaurant is open and I can snag an ADR there. We have one FastPass for Test Track. I didn't over plan in case we get up and drive down. I'm always exhausted after doing that.

Sunday Animal Kingdom
We will probably have some pool time and relax a bit during the morning and heat of the day. I have no plans other than late afternoon FP for Flight of Passage and Everest. Lunch and Dinner TBD

Monday First Day of Golf Camp
I will be heading to Caribbean Beach after dropping Blondie off at the course. I want to check out Sebastian's/Spyglass Grill and all the changes happening there. Depending how long I am there I may grab a snack at Sebastian's No park planned for tonight but we are going to go play putt putt at Fairways and have dinner at Everything Pop. I gotta have some Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes!!!!!

Tuesday
Today I will be heading to Coronado Springs to check out ALL THE NEW SPOTS!!!!! Three Bridges, Cafe Rix, Barcelona Lounge and Dahlia Lounge Barcelona is supposed to have some fantastic coffee options from what I've read! I hope so!!!! Tonight we will be heading to Hollywood Studios for dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In YES, our first time!!!!! We have FP for Rock n Roller Coaster and Slinky Dog at night for the first time!!!!

Wednesday
I will finally head over to the Swan and Dolphin for only the 2nd time and check out more than we did last time. I want to have a cocktail at Phins and just explore all the nooks and crannies that I can manage We will be going to MK tonight for dinner at Tony's Town Square and FP'ing Mine Train and Big Thunder Mountain

Thursday I am heading to Disney Springs right after B gets dropped off. I gotta have a Cafe con Leche and Empanada one last time before Bongo's closes. I will be spending my time ducking into store after store until lunch which I am having at [b]Terralina Crafted Italian[\b] Right now we have no park or dinner plans since Blondie's pass expired on Wednesday. Thi may be the evening we hit a water park!

Friday Back to Disney Springs for me I need to go to [b]Paddlefish for Sangria and Wine Bar George for the [b]Pineapple Froze[\b] Don't worry, this will not be my first visit to WBG this trip LOL this is just the day I have slated for the froze. We will head back over to the Springs in the evening for dinner at The Chicken Guy!

Saturday Check out and drive home sad We will be having breakfast at Kona Cafe before hitting the road. This was B's request for the smoked gouda grits. ALWAYS a good idea to stuff my face before driving

There are several drinks I want to try. Abby, JoAnn and Holly have all seen the list I am working off of plus a few recommendations from some of your trips, ones that have been on my lists and friends trips!! I just have to find where to fit them in Wine Flight at Spice Road Table, Welsh Dragon at Rose and Crown, Rum a Rita at River Roost, Fountain of Youth at Jock Lindsey's, Dole Whip Lime Margarita at The Poly and La Choza Classic at Choza de Margarita Imma need some help if anyone wants to come down.

I'm sure plans will change something will go wrong or we will be pooped from the heat but we will pack in as much as we can. Hopefully we will fit in HO Glow Nights too!!!!

Thanks for reading along. I will keep you posted of any changes and do my best to do a live report. Don't forget I will always be posting on our facebook page which is linked below!

Thanks for reading! muchlove

Sounds like a great trip! I love how ambitious you are with the drink goals! laugh Sebastian's isn't open until 5pm, but if you don't make it there then Banana Cabana is open at 11am and anytime is a good time to check off another cocktail!

Well that sucks, I swear I saw someone eating lunch there online. Oh well, I will find drinks and food somewhere and I want to see all the changes.

Drink goals are ambitious but maybe not obtainable LOL. I'm gonna give it a try

Oh I like the sound of that! I was so impressed with Pepe, it made me want to eat at Jaleo when I wasn't quite sure before.

You know what I hate about Disney? And I think I have said this before...

All.
The.
New.
Things!

In just the past couple of days I have seen about 5 things I want to try or do.

#1 being this cookie. Damn you WBG gaah http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/06/05/frozcato-sugar-cookie-sandwich-coming-soon-to-wine-bar-george-in-disney-springs/?fbclid=IwAR1IwCXCuGve9MT6wGenv1jlRxtRD3WUryc9Cm-39zvjIIfLQWDvgzdI9nc

They also have a bunch of new ice creams stars

I also think I am going to switch Wednesday around a bit and head to OKW for their Historical Tour. They do it on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10 and it is free!

So there's that... Let's see what else I can add in 51 days! Wink

Those Froscato sandwiches look so cute! I bet they are awesome. I saw that last week and was so sad that I didn't get to try it. But seriously - was WBG not on your list of places to stop at anyhow? They need to do an. ice cream flight. Maybe you can suggest it. to George while you are there!

Geeeezeeeee, 44 more days and it feels like a lifetime away.

1. FOMOsa looks awesome and it has been added to my list
2. Three Bridges Bar and Grill opened, may have to go one evening
3. I can make miniature golf tee times now, YES!!!! I hate getting there and waiting....
4. I am seriously considering the Villians Afterhours but it is a weeknight and Blondie would be wiped out for camp the next day.....

21 days to go!!!!! Three weeks from today we will be waking up in Jacksonville! I decided to drive partway down Friday after work so we aren't getting up early, driving all day and just hitting the ground running at Epcot with FP and an ADR. It wipes me out doing that.

So we will sleep in (yeah right waiting ) and then make our way to Orlando.

I have done some switching around a bit. I absolutely have to go to Gran Destino Tower. The early pics I have see of the inside are AMAZING!!!! There is an enormous pic of Walt and Mickey that I have to see in person. I also want to go to the Barcelona Bar for breakfast!!!!

***Greet the day with a rich and delicious espresso drink like cafe-con-leche accompanied by a Spanish or classic American pastry. For those wishing to make their morning decadences as healthy as possible, try the blueberry-lavender honey yogurt with flaxseed granola alongside a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.***

I'm not so much worried about the healthy part as I am the coffee! LOL And Spanish pastry, well, that is right up my alley! yay

I think I am adding on the Marceline to MK Tour, just not sure what day yet. It may be a last minute thing if there is availability.

I am really wanting to stay out of the heat as much as possible this trip. It has been really brutal here and I'm just no good in the heat and it wipes me out for the evening if I am in it all day.

And I am thinking about a spa day! Going to look at options today. I wish they would have the massive DVC discount they had this time last year. 40% off was quite enticing!

Oh and let me mention our MagicBand trials and tribulations... waiting

So when the option to upgrade your bands was announced, I jumped on it. I ordered Rainbow Mickey for me and Stitch for Blondie. I saw the charge sitting in my bank pending. Got a confirmation email and then an email that they shipped with a tracking number.

Low and behold, only one band showed up. So I called MDE. The recording stated if you ordered a MB that there were issues and you should have received an email. Nope... no email for me. So I waited on the line. The CM I spoke to was confused that I only got one band. There should have been mine and a grey one. NO, a Stitch one. So, she messed around with the system a bit, got Stitch ordered and gave me a new confirmation number. I asked if I would be getting another email with a confirmation number and shipping number and she said "Oh yes".

One week later, no email. Not even one about the original order or the new order. So I called back. (still had the same recording about the bands playing) The 2nd CM I talked to was NO HELP AT ALL. Oh I see it is sold out. Well what about when I called and got a confirmation number? No, it was sold out then too. Then how did I get a confirmation number??? She could not give me any info other than and I quote "well, maybe you can hope for some Magic when you check in!" Really? Cause that is what I want to do at the start of my vacation. She suggested I go to check in and explain it to them. "Hopefully" they would give me a gift card to buy one or reimburse me half the cost if I purchased one. Not a magical call at all

Finally 2 week later I call again when I heard bands were back in stock. The CM I spoke to was AMAZING!!!!!!! She was apologetic and very kind. She understood my frustrations. She ordered Blondie's band from the online store for the special price and had it shipped immediately.

Only problem, it isn't personalized with her name or hooked to our reservation but that is an easy enough fix.

Needless to say, they have a TON of kinks to work out in this offer. I honestly can't believe all the times Disney isn't prepared for stuff like this.

Anywho, enough of that. Did I mention we will be there in 21 days?!?!?!?!? yay yay

My goodness, in 2 weeks we will be waking up in Disney!!! I have most of our room stuff packed. Just have to pick up Propel waters for Blondie. Target didn't have a single pack...

I always take snacks and drinks for golf camp so she has something to stick in her bag. I am also taking wine with me this time. Figured I would sip on that in the evenings when she is pooped from camp and I am still up LOL.

Other than that, I have started my clothes packing list. I basically have to pack 2 weeks worth of clothing for camp. Golf outfits and park outfits. I will probably get the golf stuff together this weekend and have it ready to put in her bag.

Joe got his travel itinerary for his Scotland trip a couple of days ago. They leave a couple of days before us. He gets back the same time we do. Six rounds of golf and 2 hotels. They have their own driver too. I may be a bit jealous LOL I am sure he is going to have a blast. This is definitely a bucket list trip for him!!

I was surprisingly taken with Chicken Guy when I ate there. I really never realized how good chicken strips could be. I'm looking forward to going back and exploring more of the menu. I also want to take my daughter Tori, because even though she is 26, she eats like she's 6. She'll love it.

Joe had the Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Sandwich, it was fantastic. AND it's reasonably priced to boot!

Well, here we are. We left Jacksonville about 8am this morning and made pretty good time. Went straight to POP to park the car and hopped a bus to the Springs. Ab wanted mac and cheese bites from Wine Bar George and I wanted wine. We strolled around a bit before heading back to the room to rest before going to Epcot for dinner. We had a FP for Test Track and dinner at Teppen Edo.

Dinner was good. I'm not crazy about the noodles or the spinach in the veggies. I like spinach in salads but once you cook or wilt it yuck yuck yuck

Epcot was so quiet and empty. It is rare that we come when no festival is going on. Blondie got some henna in Morocco and I got my perfume from Norway. We are in the room now with the air cranked down and my travel fan blowing.

Kona for breakfast in the morning and AK in the evening!
