Greetings from a local

Hello all. I've been checking out the website for some time now, and even started posting a bit, but I decided I might as well take a minute to officially say hello and hopefully get a few of those lovely welcome icons. As you may have guessed I am a local. I am fortunate to be only an hour away from Disney. Ever since I was little I have been lucky enough to go on field trips to Disney and even take an occasional visit with my family. But this year I purchased an annual pass. I don't mean to brag (which I know is exactly what people say they are about to brag), but I won't be having a vacation countdown, because in all honesty I am probably going to go over there this weekend. It is quite a nice luxury to do something like head over to Hollywood Studios to eat, watch Fantasmic, and then head home. But I still enjoy day long trips as well when I able. Even though I have long lost track of how many times I've been, it is great to read all about your new finds as they encourage me to check out new things. Well that's enough for now. Looking forward to being a part of things around here.

Welcome J, yay
I think it would be great to just pop into Disney whenever. It was one of my favorite things to do as a kid in CA.
Have fun here and I look forward to your posts.
Dee mickey

Thanks so much for all the welcome icons. I love all the parks, but I have to say my favorite is still Magic Kingdom. I got a chance to visit Cedar Point with a friend while visiting Ohio last year, and while they probably have better thrill rides then any park, I remember thinking it didn't really have much heart. I guess there is a reason they call it the most magical place on Earth.

As for my favorite eating spots, I love ending the day at after all the rides have closed with a hot dog and fries at Casey's, best hot dogs you will find anywhere. The waffle sandwiches at Sleepy Hollow are great as well. Hollywood and vine is probably my favorite buffet, but I love the Brown Derby as well. And when I am feeling particularly adventurous it is always great to try the sushi at Tokyo Dinning at Epcot. Those are just a few of my favorites. I am trying to sample every restaurant at the Magic Kingdom this year at least once. So far I am about half way there.

Now THAT'S a fantastic goal: eating at every restaurant in the MK!

I've always wanted to try Liberty Tree Tavern...have you eaten there??

Hi J! Welcome! We're so glad to have you here.

Locals here, too! Do you ever make a weekend of it? We love to head over and treat the kids to the real vacay experience by staying at CBR or similar when there are specials going on.

I really kind of regret not staying more at Disney Hotels over the years. The only time I ever did was attending a conference where I got to stay at the Caribian Beach Resort for almost a week. I had a room to myself and it was amazing. I have stayed with a friend at the pineapple hotel right outside resort property as a cheeper option a couple times.
