Guy Fieri To Create Burger Menu at Revamped Planet Hollywood

Love him or hate him, celebrity chef Guy Fieri sure has Disney fans talking. Planet Hollywood announced this week that Guy will be creating the menu at their revamped flagship location in Disney Springs. What's surprising to me is how much ire this is drawing - there seem to be a LOT of Guy haters out there.

Do you have strong feelings about Guy? What do you think about him creating the new Planet Hollywood menu?

I like him. I've never been to any of his restaurants but we hit tons of Triple Ds. I too have seen a lot of negativity surrounding this but I will wait and form my own opinion when the time comes.

SO I just read some of the comments on the Disney Food Blog FB page... WOW is all I can say.

1st of all, people are WAY overreacting. He is not recreating the entire menu, just the burger menu. Your chicken fingers are safe if you all just read a little more.

2nd, why do people always just blow things off from the get go? TRY it for heavens sake! Everyone raved about Raglan Road and we didn't like it at all. Everyone poo pooed Mama Melrose and it was the best meal of our trip.

I guess most people aren't happy unless they can complain about something or be offended....

white trash food poison wanting slobs unite (I'm taking a bunch of the comments referring to Guy and making that statement)

Right!?!? They're going nuts over there! My favorite however, and probably the person with the most credible opinion is the comment from the former chef at one of Guy's restaurants. Here is what they had to say:

"As a former chef employee of Guy's Restaurants I must say that I could defiantly do without him in Disney (just my personal opinion). We opened his new restaurant in my area and he didn't know any of "his" own recipes. We (the actual restaurant employees) had to fix "his" recipes just to get the food at a good enough quality to open by deadline. Not an original idea in his head. Not a very nice guy either."

I love white trash food, proud white trash that I am, but Guy Fieri's restaurant at Mount Airy Lodge Casino left a lot to be desired. But I'll never eat at Planet Hollywood anyway so I don't care one way or the other.
