Halloween at Old Town Orlando

Totally stolen from the Orlando Sentinel

Old Town, a longtime shopping and entertainment complex along the tourism corridor in Kissimmee, is planning free Halloween events that will begin this Friday and continue on select nights through Oct. 31.

A zombie walk kicks off Old Town Halloween at 6 p.m., Oct. 14, down the attraction's main drag. Spooky activities " including four "haunt-zones", live entertainment, appearances by the Florida Ghost Buster Fan Club, "monster mashes" and sword fights " will occur 6 p.m.-midnight on Oct. 14, 15, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31. There will be costume contests on those Saturdays.

Children will be allowed to trick or treat at Old Town from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 29, 30 and 31.

"Halloween activites at other theme parks can cost as much as $80 per person, plus parking, while entrance to Old Town is absolutely free and so is parking," says Gary Conroy, Old Town president. He hopes this begins another Halloween tradition for locals and tourists, he says.

Old Town's rides and attractions will be open during the events, including the Haunted Grimm House, which is a year-round attraction at Old Town.

Old Town's address is 5770 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway (aka Highweay 192), Kissimmee. For more information, go to www.MyOldTownUSA.com or call 407-396-4888.
