As much as I love the specialty margaritas I really have to say that I am a huge fan of the "Classic" margarita. Made simply with high quality tequila, orange liqueur and fresh lime juice. With just a hint of salt on the rim. Yummmmm... If I'm feeling adventurous I will go for the jalapeno though, I just love that sweet and spicy mix.

Agree..We had a Barman in town who won many top awards in London for his cocktails..His Classic take on the Margarita was a triple matured Tequila with Cointreau and fresh lime with a salt rim glass..Hmm..Now I'am craving one.. awesome

Emford,

Be forewarned ... The Jalapeno maragarita at LaCava will knock your socks off.. I'm a south Louisiana boy and like my hot foods (and drinks) but that Jalapeno Margarita about caught my mouth of fire.. Have plenty of water handy to douse the flames... I never thought I'd say a drink could be too hot, but that one was (maybe Humberto was a little eager to please this south Louisiana Boy that fateful night last fall biggrin eek ).. Anyway, my new favorite is the Habernero Margarita. I've been making that at home since returning home from sea last month.. clapping awesome

Thanks for the warning! I actually haven't had one at La Cava but have had them at bars around my town a couple times and loved them. Maybe I'll avoid it there.. haha. On another note, do you have a recipe for your habanero margarita? I have a ton from my garden and have been trying to figure out what to do with them. A margarita sounds perfect biggrin

Emford,

Here's my recipe for a Habanero Margarita:

3/4 oz. Monin Habanero Lime Syrup (SEE Attached photo)
1 1/2 oz. Tequila (Reposado preferred)
1/2 oz. Orange Liqueur (Contreau)
1/2 oz. Fresh squeezed Lime juice
1/2 oz. fresh orange juice

Fill 12 oz. glass with ice and pour in all above ingredients. Garnish with lime wedge.

BTW, I ordered the Monin Habanero Lime syrup off Amazon.. (4 bottles for $36 - free shipping with prime)

Also, I've attached La Cavas recipe via Youtube below. Hilda is making the drink. She was our MC at the Tequila Luncheon at F&W the last two years..

Replace fresh picked Habaneros with the Jalepenos and this should do the trick with your fresh garden picked Habaneros, Emford.. Hope this helps!! biggrin awesome

Yummm thanks!!! awesome I think i'm going to try and make my own habanero lime simple syrup and cut it with sugar because these peppers are deadly. I don't know whats going on with my backyard but it makes 5-alarm+ peppers. laugh I'm going to try it tonight! It is Friday after all yay
