Hi everyone...New Here

Hi everyone! I sort of just stumbled upon this site and I've been following the forums for a bit and I love all the insight. I'm looking forward to joining the conversation. So, a little about me...

My name is Chris and I'm from South Louisiana. I'm 26 years old and for a living, I do digital marketing for a multimedia company. I've been a Disney fan since I can remember and in 2001 my family joined the DVC and we love it! I try to make an annual trip to WDW when I can but lately it's been just about every other year. My next trip is planned for mid-December and I can't wait! I love talking with other folks who are as interested in Disney as I am so, I'm excited to join the forum. If you'd like to know anything more, just ask!

Thanks for the warm welcome! My our home resort is the Beach Club Villas but we've actually never stayed there. We are partial to Old Key West because we love the golf course and water views, and the room layouts are pretty spacious. After our next trip, I'll be making it a point to see more of the DVC resorts (I've only actually stayed at 2).

This December we will be staying at OKW (again) from the 14th-21st. I love WDW during the holidays because all of the decorations and celebrations really get me into the Christmas spirit. I'm taking 3 first-timers on this trip so I'm really excited to show them what it's all about! Thanks to our DVC membership, on almost every trip I get to bring a first-timer. Once they've gone they almost always ask me "When can we go again!?!" Introducing friends and family is really one of my favorite things about going to WDW.

This trip will also be the first trip for my nieces(6 & 4), nephew(2), and brother-in-law so I couldn't be more excited to see them experience their first trip (the two girls think they are Ariel and Belle, so it's in their blood). My mother, my sister and her family will be staying at BLT so we are technically on two different trips. But I'll definitely be carving out some time to see them while we're there.

64 days to go!

Well Hello!! Your trip sounds great. OKW is on my list to visit, the Magical Express took us by there to drop people off on the way to Port Orleans and I love the soft colors. Key West is one of my favorite places (outside of WDW, of course!).

What a great experience to take your nieces for the first time!! Anything special planned?? ADRs??

Hi Chris and welcome We are excited to hear more about your plans!

Also, it sounds like you have been to WDW several times...what are your must-do ADRs, attractions, or events??

Well, being that are going the week before Christmas we will are making it a point to see all of the Christmas decor. It will be the first trip for my friends and they don't believe that there is a life-sized gingerbread house inside of the Grand Floridian and they can't fathom the amount of lights there are at the Osbourne Family Light Show. I'm also really curious about the Top of the World Lounge. I've never been but I imagine that the views there are spectacular so I'm thinking of adding that to the to-do list. My nieces are going to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique so I'll definitely be carving out some time that day to see them dressed up as Ariel and Belle.

As far as ADR's go, we don't typically make them. We generally cook most nights while at the resort. That gives us all time to reminisce about the day, have a few drinks and unwind. However, I am looking for a few dining options for a couple of nights while there. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the welcome MandaLynn! As I mentioned, I don't really have any must-do ADR's but I have a laundry list of attractions and events...
I have to see every fireworks show while there (including Fantasmic).
During Christmas time, I have to see the Osbourne Family Light Show at least once.
I always take a trip to do Drinking Around the World at Epcot (followed by a stop in at Jellyrolls).
Riding the monorail is a must.
I have to eat at Earl of Sandwich at least twice every trip.
I have my favorite attractions at each park, but instead of going on for days, I'll narrow it down to one for each park. HS - Great Movie Ride, Epcot - Journey Into the Imagination with Figment, MK - Disney's Philharmagic, AK - Kilimanjaro Safaris

How about you? Anything I left out or am missing out on?

Hey, Chris! We're glad you've joined!

Does your family usually go to the Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom when you go?

I highly recommend ANY of the restaurants in Epcot...everything is fantastic! Maybe you can stop for a snack or two at a few of them to keep your belly full while you're sipping around the world!

I've never been to MVMCP but my sister is taking her children this year so I'm eager to hear their reviews. Thanks for the dining suggestions! The people I'm traveling with have mentioned that they want sushi one night while there so maybe we'll stop by Japan while at Epcot.

welcome

I loved the MVMCP!!! It was a blast for me and the boys. For your nieces and nephews you might want to try a character meal. Crystal Palace is always a great one. The only one I'll really go to for breakfast because you can get into the park early.

Tokyo Dining is super yummy! The sushi is incredibly fresh, the meals for children are served in little plastic monorails and our little guys loved what they had for dinner!

Have fun! I've never been to the Christmas Party, but the Halloween Party was a blast. I hear they're comparable.
