Hiya! Enjoy quiet walks on the Beach

Hi there! Guess this is where you come and say "'Ello"!

I enjoy quiet long walks on the beach. Feeding the birds at the park. Ok... actually... not really. Thought it would be a good way to break the ice... lol

My family loves Disney. Father of 2, husband to 1. Part of the Disney Vacation Club @ Animal Kingdom. When were not at Disney which is the other 51 weeks out of the year, we have season tickets to Columbus Blue Jackets games as our other love.

I found this site from a review that Mulch, Sweat, and Shears posted on their Facebook page actually. Read the review. Read the Boma review. Read the Disney Princess's breakfast stops, and decided that "Hey! This could be fun!". So here I am, and again hello!

Hi and Welcome! We're so glad to have you here, and look forward to getting to know you. So - is AK your favorite park, or do you just love AKL? If the latter, you are in great company.

Thanks all for the greets! Very welcoming!

As for our next vacation. Yeah... its marked on our Calendar. We shall be going to Disney World the week of November 13th. We stay at Jambo. This is will be our 3rd year with the DVC, and we love it. Basically my father and I went in on it together. Since he payed more on it, he gets to go with my Mom twice a year and they go also in May, and in Novembers they go with us. So I am very jealous of my parents! LOL

Food is one thing we got to experience this past trip. We did the Disney Dining Plan for the first time which forced us to eat at different places. So we need to find some new places, so ill gladly take suggestions!

We LOVE Jambo. We visited Kidani our last trip, and it seemed VERY underwhelming compared to Jambo. But Sana was VERY good.

Actually the AK is one of our least favorite. We actually didnt get to hit it our last trip back in November. We do plan on hitting it next time. We just decided last trip to take it slow. Not rush to everything and try to get one park in on one day. We would start in say Magic Kingdom, and depending on where our dinner reservations were is where we would end up at night. But out of the resorts... Jambo is our favorite. When I was a kid we stayed at Dixie Landings and Caribbean Beach. Loved them both... but to have that Savanna View at Jambo is just special. This may sound dumb... but one of my favorite moments on vacation was I took my laptop on the deck, and that time we had the pool view, and I watched my Blue Jackets hockey on the deck. It was such a nice time.

You know whenever we have to go around the room and introduce ourselves I always do that:

Hi, I'm cdub, I'm a saggitarius. I enjoy long walks on the beach and firelight. No one ever laughs. I think I need to work on my delivery.

Mase,
Just had to say I love your posts...soo..

I have been going back and reading the introductions of the folks here at WDWFGU and I saw you were a season ticket holder to the Blue Jackets!... I know it's not WDW, but I am a huge Blue Jackets fan, too.

I have lived in Athens, AL for 10 years now, but grew up in Dayton area, and lived in C-Bus for 2 years right before moving to AL. I graduated from Wright State in Dayton.

I knew there was a good reason why i loved your posts!

Hope to post a lot more soon...working too much!

NEED MORE POINTS!...Wanna get to the 'stay in a 1 bedroom for every visit' level Smile

My wife says from, what she reads, once you go to 1 bedroom you never go back...so we are holding off on 1 bedroom until we decide to make a move for more points...

Any thoughts on that?

Disney David

Oh wow... I had to go and see what was originally posted on this to figure out what was going on and realized it was mine! lol

Yes! We are Blue Jackets season ticket holders. We love our team a whole lot. Just wish all of Columbus did... lol. I also had a good friend graduate from Wright State. Thats a great school in Dayton.

And thanks for liking my posts. I try real hard to make them enjoyable for the masses! lol... naw... just being myself.

As for a one bedroom, do you mean going from a value to a standard, or a one bedroom with a kitchen and living room? For us we do a 2 bedroom with kitchen and living room. We love it at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. If your saying for that, then I say its worth it. At night when your relaxing... its nice to have that living room to just chill. Makes it kinda feel like home rather than a motel room.

GO JACKETS! Oh... btw... we have a HUGE chance to switch to the Eastern Conference!

Go Blue Jackets!...keep hope alive!..100% positive they will not leave Nationwide/Columbus...
I heard that...about the Eastern Conference because Atlanta may move to Winnipeg?...the attendance will come back with a little more winning... I'm in the camp of management where I think they are still on the right track overall...at least for the next 3-4 years (basically until Nash is ready to leave)..they just need consistent goalie...
My brother lives in Westerville and has been a season ticket holder from the ground floor...so there is at least a couple of fans sticking with CBJ!
I'm hoping for the Eastern Conference move by the NHL!

On the one bedroom:
Yes...kind of... on the 1 bedroom in regards to using DVC points...the whole analyzing of "do we take a longer vacation in a studio or a shorter one in a one bedroom"--irregardless of the view, etc...I would like a 1 bedroom to chill out during afternoon breaks, but by better half warns me against it...because everyone she chats with says once you get a 1 bedroom (of any variation) it will be so uncomfortable to go back to a studio that you better get the points to have a one bedroom with out shortening the trip so you don't end up with short vacation or being uncomfortable in a studio wishing you were in a 1 bedroom....like it's that big a difference...

I guess that is somewhat an unfair question because that is purely subjective....and my wife and I do not have any kids...and you have 2...

About the room ill say this. The way our points work is this: My Dad and I share the points. We have enough for my parents and my family to go in November and stay in a 2 bedroom deluxe. Then we have enough points for my parents to go by themselves in the beginning of May and they stay in a studio.

This past trip they came back and expressed that they dont want to do the studio anymore, that the deluxe spoiled them and are looking into buying more points to remedy that situation. We stayed in 2 studio's the first year we had DVC, and for a family of 4... that was nuts, so after that we decided on the 2 bedroom deluxe and glad we did.

So its about personal choice. If your not at your resort much, then it might be a bit of overkill. But if your done say around 7-8pm every night... then its something to consider, or your a late riser and want to relaxe a bit in your own room.

Now back to the Jackets because I LOVE talking about the team! lol

Yeah... our goaltending is an issue, but the one time our goaltending was SOLID was when our goaltending coach was with us for like a week. Once he was gone, and the goaltending started to go down, he was MIA for a bit because he had other things to do. Thats one thing that is being remedied over the summer. Were hiring a permanent goaltending coach! I am stoked! The other guy was part time, and lived in Canada. We will now have a fulltime goaltending coach like Vancouver. So im excited about this. I personally think Mase is the guy we need, but he needs to develop into a consistent goaltender. I think a lot of it stems back to when Hitchcock was still here, and it was a goalie battle. Mason vs. Garon, and no one knew who would start that night. So I think a lot of it stems to that. Now... Arniel gave Mase tons of chances this year. More than I thought he would get, but Garon had a horrible season as well. It just ends up he had been playing with an injury since January. So that explained a lot as well. THEN... we find out Mase had an injury to he was playing through. So at the end... it was real hard to be mad at any of them.

But yeah... im excited for the direction were heading. I love Arniel as our coach, but also sad that our Assistent Coach resigned early this week... but I love the Blue Jackets. You should see my Man Cave... lol

Sounds like we need more points... that's the answer! Smile
Time to call Todd!... wink
(He's the guy that sells us our points from Disney)

I feel good about Arniel, too...wish I could see them more in person to get a better feel...but from a distance I'm on board....

I do get up to Nashville once a year to see them...I was up there when Nashville cheated to beat them .. if you remember that...referee/league denied a goal by CBJ on replay that was obviously a goal, which would have won the game in reg (tied 2-2)...but NSH won on late crap goal.
Garon is a back up...that's what he is..

Love to talk about CBJ and Disney...

Heavy into planning right now...the whiteboard is out! awesome

Oh... I remember that BS. Ask my wife... I was livid. I was going off... yelling at my tv. Screaming profanities that would had made a nun turn into a (Fill in the Blank).

But yeah... if you can swing it. Go for more points. Its so worth it to have that extra room!
