I left my heart in San Francisco

Hi Everyone!!!

So I have a pre-trip report that isn't entirely Disney but has some bits sprinkled in here and there!

Many of you may remember my work trip to Chicago last year, first time I had flown in years!!!! Well a few months later I was flying to Ohio for Disneyana and now I'm off on another work trip to the same conference but in San Francisco yay

There have been so many ups and downs with this trip I don't know where to start.

1. I was going to extend the trip and go to Disneyland. When I started pricing everything out and figuring it out logistically, I nixed it Sad( . It wasn't an easy thing to do but I also really wanted to be with my family the first time.

2. I picked all sorts of fun stuff to do with my BFF while we were out there then she tells me her boyfriend is going. Nixed all that stuff.

3. Sooooo, I ask Joe to come along. Start planning again. We are staying longer, he is golfing, we are going to Napa and Sonoma Valley. Then, bam, he has a heart attack. He is ok but it was quiet scary, Doc said he can travel/fly so I think ok we are good

4. Joe decides not to go. Not gonna lie, even though I understand he is behind. A week off because of Dorian, a week off because of the heart attack I cried like a baby

So here I am back at square on, planning for me. The other girl going with is is taking her boyfriend too so I will be the 5th squeaky wheel. waiting

So right now plans are:

Fly out Thursday morning. I will get into SFO at about 2. The other girls and their boyfriends are doing a redeye Wednesday night so they will already be there. We are staying the first few nights at an AMAZING looking hotel. The Kimpton Sir Francis Drake. Not gonna lie, when I booked this for all of us I was super giddy! https://www.sirfrancisdrake.com/ Just look at that bar!!!!!! I will be there Thursday Night thru Monday morning. Then I will be checking into the Hampton Inn, not as fancy as the Kimpton but looks nice. https://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/california/hampton-inn-san-francisco-downtown-convention-center-SFOCCHX/index.html I'll be here until Thursday morning when I fly home. Joe asked if I was just going to come back after the conventions since he wasn't going but I want to stay.

Things I have on my must do list
1. Disney Family Museum
2. Disney Store (hopefully they have a San Fran Mickey)
3. Muir Woods
4. Day trip to Napa or Sonoma
5. The Stinking Rose for dinner, this was going to be my early bday dinner with Joe, I'll go alone, the other girls have no interest. I've wanted to go here since the first time I saw it on the Food Network. https://thestinkingrose.com/sf/
6. Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito

I've found a few tours on Project Expedition that I will probably book.

I have a ton of restaurants on my list including ones in Chinatown and Little Italy. Plus a couple of awesome looking tiki bars.

I plan on making the most of my trip out there. Never know if or when I will get back to the west coast so why not!

If you have any tips or favorites out there, let me know!!!

Wish I could go with you to another J squared adventure.

They don't do tours but you can visit Lucas Studios.

Just tell work you HAVE to go! LOL I thought about that one too. I just have to figure out which wine tour I'm doing before I plan everything else.

Napa is the Disneyland of wine! Go to Sterling Vineyards, Gondola trip to walking tour, taste as you go, finish in a tasting room for a sit down tasting. The wines you get at the Winery and so much different than the stuff at the store. Cant go wrong. Enjoy.

Booked my wine tour https://www.paintedladiestourcompany.com/

Booked a Tiki Bar https://www.thezombievillage.com/

Booked and amazing Italian dinner https://acquolina.us/

Got my ticket for the Disney Family Museum and the Mickey Mouse Exhibit. Going to spend the day at the Presidio exploring.

We are also going to hit ChinaTown for lunch one day and for a little exploring

I really want to go see Hamilton so that may happen on Wednesday. I have no exact plans for that day yet but I do move to a hotel closer to the airport that evening.

Well, well, well, my heart is for sure in San Francisco.

What a fantastic city and the Disney Museum was far more than I anticipated! I'll get around to posting more about it soon. Just trying to catch up on family time and rest this weekend!
