If we could have Marvel at Disney World

Will it looks Californians will finally be getting a taste of Marvel at Disneyland, but with Universal Studios holding tightly on to their never ending contract with Marvel, Disneyworld can't do much besides a monorail that technically never enters the Disney parks. So the best we can do is imagine, so imagine we shall. If Disneyworld was allowed to use Marvel, where would you like to see it? What kind of attractions would you want to see? Would you want to see Marvel characters around the world, and if so which ones? Or do you think Marvel would be a detraction and wouldn't add anything to the parks? Curious to read some thoughts on this.

I'm okay with Thor in Norway. They sell his merchandise there and it just seems appropriate to me. But I always think of Thor as a God, not as a Super Hero so my POV is a little skewed on that one.

Maybe I'm ok with Captain America in the American Adventure - maybe. The timeline on that one isn't quite right. I like him better at Hollywood Studios somewhere on Hollywood Blvd.

Iron Man in Innoventions I'm really good with, they could do a whole Stark Industries Expo thing with the space that is fantastic in my head.

I really don't have a desire to see Marvel in the Magic Kingdom.

I'm with Kristen, don't put Marvel near the Magic Kingdom!

If it were possible, I think the whole Marvel universe would belong in Hollywood Studios. Keep it all together like they do at Universal.

Works for me, though I also love Kristen's idea for a reimagination of Inoventions based off of Stark Industries. I have long that attraction needed an update.

My initial thought was Hollywood Studios since that park so desperately needs a boost anyway and it seems the most appropriate park to put it in, but I also love the idea if a Stark Industries exhibit in Innovations!

I think that a Marvel area at Hollywood Studios would be a GREAT addition especially if they go forward with the Star Wars Land idea there. They could use some updates and some fun rides. Maybe an Avengers ride similar to that of the Spider Man or Harry Potter at Universal....I think some more thrill type rides would be fun to add to HS since Disney is lacking a bit in that department, but I LOVE Disney, so regardless what they do I am sure it will be fantastic! mickey

Agree.
It just makes the most sense.

That last phrase "like they do at Universal" is why I don't think that it shouldn't be done that way. You never ever want to be just like your competitor! Disney needs to incorporate Marvel in a new an unique way that doesn't look anything like what's been seen before.

Stark at Epcot would be awesome, as in iron man 2 the stark expo is based on Epcot. in the film tony watches about the expo his dad is based on Walt and the film is shoot to look like one of the disney world videos from the 60s.

There's marvel characters from all over the world showcase in fact every country has one so maybe replace the agent p trail with marvel to get more people in the world showcase? As long as they aren't in AK or MK I don't mind

If your going to do Marvel... there are many ways to look at it. Personally... I dont see why they could not incorporate it into the Magic Kingdom. I know we have purists here, but its not like they can't add a section to it dedicated to Marvel. They are already incorporating them into their tv shows like Phineas and Ferb. I like Stark Industries in Epcot to take over Innovations... but to incorporate them with the countries in the back I think is not the way to go. Too much profiling for my tastes. I know they do it with the Princesses and Princes... but I think they do it more for the kids than anything. I just couldnt imagine seeing like Wolverine in Japan or Nightcrawler in England. Guess the Prince and Princesses look and fit the part for where they are at.

But if id put them somewhere and I had the choice. Marvel and Star Wars would go together and be its own place. But if we were to add them to a current place... HS is definite choice. My only thing with HS... they dont have a lot of room to grow. They would have to take out stuff, and while they can... I dont think it would be enough. Im still having a hard time trying to imagine enough room for Star Wars there. Disney has the room... lets make a new theme park.

Wolverine would be in Canada and Nightcrawler in Germany because that's where they were from in the comic books. (Wolverine could wander over to Japan occasionally and still be appropriate, though.) Storm would be over by the African Outpost. Back in the day there was a Japanese superhero, Sunfire if I recall correctly, who could be in Japan. I remember other international heroes (and villains) from way back when, but none that correspond to other World Showcase pavilions besides the American pavilion, which would be crawling with superheroes, and the Canadian pavilion, which would also have several to choose from. I guess Banshee could be kind of England-adjacent? But I haven't read comics since the mid-1980s, so by now there may be lots of other Marvel characters who could populate the entire World Showcase.

I suppose I could live with Marvel superheroes making appearances like the various princesses do at Epcot, but if it were my call I'd keep Epcot real-world oriented and leave the fantasy, sci-fi, and superheroes to other parks.

I agree with my husband... I think they would be weird in the countries and I can't see them in the magic kingdom either... The only place I think they would work would be at Hollywood studios or in Innoventions

Idealistically, Hollywood Studios is the perfect fit for the Marvel in a perfect world. There definitely would be some meet and greets for the superheros. Attractions wise, that's tough. Idealistically, the Iron Man 3 exhibit at Disneyland would be a good start. I'm sure a lot of people would want some sort of thrill ride for the Marvel characters like a roller coaster or a motion simulator. But as for me, I love the Marvel superhero movies and yet, I can't put on my Imagineer thinking cap and think of some quality attractions! gaah
