Kilimanjaro Safari

OK, here comes the big question......
Do you do Kilimanjaro Safari first to try to catch the lions and all the animals out at brekky time or do you do EE and then head over and what do you see at that time?

Help.... I'm torn as I am originally a weiner and don't do rollercoasters but I promised CarJust I would try EE this time (the only rollercoaster I have ever been on is BTMRR) but even when we ran to Kilimanjaro Safari none of the cats were out. So point me in the right direction please.

My humble opinion and experience - we do EE first, then head over to KS. Before EE, we did KS first, and to be honest, it's been so hit and miss on whether you see certain animals or not, that I ca'nt say it's made much of a difference either way. But that could just be our poor luck. I think we've seen a lion once in 5 visits. But at various times, we've gotten super close to hippos, giraffes, an ostrich, and plenty of others.

LOL I think we did the safari itself 3 times last time we went (over 2 days). So 2 mor times adn we might see the lions, totally doable. We are doing AK twice this trip so I might try out both ways. hmmmmmm. so many choices.

We usually grab a fastpass for the Safari and then hit EE. However, we have had pretty bad luck with the level of animal activity when we go.

We've seen the cheetahs, black rhino and everything else just no lions.. We saw the most activity first thing. There is a EMH Morning when we plan to be there so i was thinking safari right at 8am

of the 5 trips I've done, we've done Animal Kingdom the same way every time..
we go on the early opening day..
we hit the Safari first
then we go to Expedition Everest (stinks that its way on the other side of the park though)
we get a fast pass, then get in the stand by line (usually only 5-10 min)
then when we get off the ride the fast passes are ready and we go on it again.

although on this last trip, because of the rain we rode it 4 times in a row through the stand by line without ever using the fast passes we got.

Yeah... the safari is such a hit and miss ride. Ive always been told to ride it as early as possible because there is more activity, but we have done it at all sorts of different times with different outcomes. Animals are just too unpredictable... lol

We normally make the speed walk to EE, grab a FP for later, then go on over to KS - normally by the time we're done with KS we can get another FP, for KS. Then later on we'll do EE and KS again with FP...more in the later afternoon to see different animal activity

I'd like to do that sometime. I'd be really interested to see how the animals differ between the morning and afternoon.

this last trip I went on it was POURING big ol fat florida rain the day we went to AK... I was worried the animals would hide..
but the animals were the most active that I've ever seen! We even had to wait because one of the white Rhinos kept walking back and forth across the road. The only ones hiding were the lions.

I sort of feel dumb now because I never really considered that I should try a different time of day for different animals. I'm such a creature of habit I've probably been missing the unicorn and the dragon and everything!
