Some of you will remember that I skipped a trip to WDW last November to stay home with a sick kitty, Oreo. She got better then, but last week she got sick again and this time there wasn't anything the vet could do.

And now her brother (the last surviving member of that cat family; the other two brothers and the mother are already gone) is heartbroken. He really loved his sister.

The photos below are Oreo at the emergency vet last fall, and Oreo and her brother snuggling in their favorite place, an old dog bed by a sunny window.

So very sorry ccp. Our animals love us, and each other, and truly do miss us when we are gone. I am thinking of you guys. I have 2 that have been together their whole long lives too. sad

I'm sorry, Jan. It's so hard to lose a fur kid. We get so attached to their sweet little personalities! Thinking about you, Mr. CCP, and the other fur kids today. bighug

I am so sorry it is never easy for those of us who truly love our animals and it is especially hard on the brothers and sisters that are left behind I am sure. I lost my oldest Cairn this past December (he was 13 but still never old enough) and like you did all I and the Vet could do as I believe it is always about Quality of Life and sometimes I wonder what his sister must think (she is 2) when he never came home. Again I am so sorry. Sad

I'm very sorry for your loss. It's one of the hardest things about having such wonderful pets. They become a family member just like a person and in some ways even more so due to the absolute unconditional love they give throughout the years. It makes it especially hard when we must say goodbye to them. Our two cats, Callie and Casey are brother and sister and I feel there is a special bond between them, maybe just because they've lived with each other their entire lives so far. Why can't our pets live as long as us?!

Yes, our pets often carry us through hard times and good with that unconditional love. That makes it even harder to say goodbye, for sure. muchlove

I am so sorry Oreo has passed on to the Rainbow Bridge...
I know how much we love our fur babies and they leave such a void
in our hearts and life when they are no longer with us.
Hugging my kitties extra hard tonight and reminding them how much
they are loved. You are in my thoughts .........

Its so sad that our animals don't get to spend our entire lives with us, but they do get to spend their entire lives with us, and I know Oreo was lucky to spend his life with you. My heart goes out to you.
