Kona Cafe or 'Ohana???

The hubs and I will be traveling to the World 10/9-10/16 for our 2 year wedding anniversary, which is 10/15. We will be exploring MK during the day on 10/15 and don't have any ADR's yet. We'd like to have our anniversary dinner in one of the resorts and are heavily leaning toward the Polynesian. Question is, Kona Cafe or 'Ohana? We have read such great reviews about both and love seafood/sushi/Polynesian so we know that we'll love the food at both. So, my question to the forum is, based on the theming, atmosphere, romantic aspect, would you choose to have your anniversary dinner at the Kona Cafe or 'Ohana?

Hopefully one day I'll be able to stay there and check out both! yay

O'Hana. I think the ambiance is better there for a romantic adult type dinner.

I vote for the Kona Cafe. Ohana is family style and a little loud. Its great too though, so you really can't go wrong with either choice.

Mrs. Minnie that's a hard one but I will base it on the food. I like both. But Kona wins out for us. Ohana's is good, and it has a small show theme to it, but Kona wins hands done when it comes to selection of food & the sushi is to die for, can you say "Volcano roll" or "Spicy Kazzan Roll". They both use the same bar and heck the kitchens might be connected, but Ohana's seems to try and push you along and get you out, especially if you are a party of two. They have the open fire pit and meat is cooked over it on skewers and served from the skewers. It's more themed towards the kids with all the games, but its a fun night. Kona is just a very good restaurant, no games or show, but Very good food and service.

Kona! 'Ohana is awesome but between the 2 for an anniversary I could choose Kona. The food is amazing.

I would go with 'Ohana myself. Though I love Kona (and the sushi is fantastic), I really enjoy 'Ohana and the tables for two next to the windows are lovely and have a view of the fireworks if you time it right. I've never felt rushed there as a table of two, and thought that it was a great experience.

Yes Kris, they still sell sushi at Kona but not from the Kona Island anymore. They moved into the restaurant where the desert counter was, but there are no stools to sit there. You can still sit at the Kona Island and order sushi from the restaurant, but the Island is a coffee , tea , and wine station now. No more making sushi there in front of you.

We've done Ohana and love it but like everyone else said it's more of a family type atmosphere....We are going to be doing Kona Cafe on this trip for our anniversary to.
