The Last Supper (or breakfast,or lunch)

Ok good folks here is my dilema ...

We are planning a 2015 trip to the world and it will probably be our last one eek (well never say never).
What i would like to know is where would you recommend trying to get a reservation to eat ? It could be any meal of the day but what is your number one suggestion ?
Please bear in mind that my fair wife and me are not foodie types and neither of us like seafood. Also La Cellier is oot ...tried it and was very underwelmed
thanks in advance for all your input,
The Ferrets

Well, my first thought is California Grill. I think even a non foodie would like it bc its just really excellent food. I think I might also try a dinner show (like the luau) or the dessert party so that it's more of an experience than about the food.

Well my oh my...2015 will also be our last trip..This will be trip number 6... The reason is that 14 nights inside the magic bubble is now the price of a small family car and we can go 6 trips to Europe for that price...Anyway,rant over...My favourite meal of the day is dinner...And my number one choice would be a toss up between California Grill or Jiko...I would peruse the menus with your good lady..We will probably do a couple of ADRS...One will be Via Napoli ( Loved the giant half a metre pizza ) But the other will be a signature experience...And I think Yachtsmen will win as the three of us all love steaks..Hope this helps out Mr Ferret..

Mrferret, I think you need to define what you mean by "not foodie types" a little better. Are you looking for meat and potatoes , pasta, ect.... If you're looking for the basics, meat & potatoes, fried chicken, stuff like that, I would say go to 50's Prime Time. If you want something close to signature, The Turf Club in Saratoga Springs. I consider the Turf Club to have the best Filet on property, along with the Chocolate Espresso Torte as the best dessert, but thats just my opinion.

I would consider both California Grill & Jiko prime "foodie types" restaurants. They put a twist on pretty much everything, but in a good way. Flying Fish is also an excellent restaurant, which most people pass up because they think it is only seafood, which is far from it.

All of the above restaurants are our go to places.

Also, if you just want a "meat overload" go to 'Ohana for dinner plus maybe you can watch the fireworks during dessert.

Good luck!

Hmm..well, if you're into steak, I'd throw in Yachtsman Steakhouse in the mix (Lot of cuts of meat to choose from.) and while I'm not a fan of pasta in general, there is a lot of praise for the truffle mac n cheese. Theoretically, it should be much better than Le Cellier. Other than that besides everything that been said, I'd also throw in Narcoossee's or Citricos, as well.

I second Ohana during the Magic Kingdom fireworks. And tell them this is your last trip ever and you'd like a table with a good view.

I will throw my vote in for Yachtsman steak house. It has become one of our favorites. Great food and service. If you love steak this is the place to go.

However, it's *so* hard for me to just lump all of Disney Dining into a "pick one" because there is so much variety. I really try to match the restaurants that I suggest to the people I'm talking to. These are a few more choices that I would make if I was booking a trip for "non-foodie types."

Cape May Cafe is my #1 Character Breakfast Buffet
Kona Cafe is my #1 Table Service Breakfast
Via Napoli is my #1 Epcot
Flame Tree BBQ my #1 at Animal Kingdom (Counter Service no ADR Needed)
Pecos Bills my #1 in Magic Kingdom (Counter Service no ADR Needed)
Ohana for Dinner has a mildly Asian influence.
Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge is good "down home" food, as is the Trails End Cafe at Fort Wilderness. Yachtsman Steak House is fantastic for a "nice" meal.
