A little problem

To crazycatperson and others who are meeting at Aloha Isle today at 5 PM, I am not able to be there! Badly broken right wrist Wed at HS. No cast yet, as it needs surgery and a plate first next week. Just a brace, so I am guarding it - especially from bouncing kiddos and excited adults. biggrin

I am still here though, but avoiding the MK crowds, and can't ride. I am just walking around and listening to music! If you have to be hurting, what better place for pleasant distraction? Also, my surgeon at home cannot see me till Monday anyway.

I sent you a PM Wed evening crazycat person.

I am up for Epcot this afternoon if you are. I am the one walking around with the black arm brace - cautiously, instead of my full barrel pace. wink

Oh no doc! That sounds very serious. How on earth did you manage that? I hope that the healing isn't too difficult.

So sorry to hear of your misfortune, hope it is not TOO painful. I would ask you how it happened (everyone will want to know anyways) but it is probably too painful to type. Get well soon.

Crazy story guys - just walking across a back row to sit for the little mermaid show. Tripped on something - not sure if it was my own feet or some loose carpet. Sadly, no CM came to my aid, nor did anyone outside the attraction. I did ask with my dangling arm for directions to first aid was was directed to the front of the park!

Got there and first aid gave me ice and a brochure for centra care. Did not examine me or get up for the chair behind the desk. Drove myself there. Drove myself to surgeon yesterday AM. Had stopped at AKL front desk to tell them and get my magic and put on - can't use my right arm. Concierge CM said he hoped I felt better. sad

So the gift shop CM at AKL told me to see a manager. I made the accident report. Still no pixie dust like Robyn got with her bus incident, and I am traveling alone with a broken untreated wrist! ( declined narcotic painkillers for personal reasons- just Tylenol at this point till after surgery).

Kind of disappointed in Disney, but in all fairness they may not have known how badly I was injured. But I was pretty disoriented when it happened - that probably should have been a clue. biggrin

You do know that Disney resorts have a concierge doctor available 24/7 that will come to your resort room. Of course you have to pay for it upfront but depending on your medical insurance you will be reimbursed. I know about this first hand because my husband at a tick on his leg that became all red and not good so when I went to the front desk they gave me the telephone number and by 11:00pm that night a very nice doctor was at our door.

Wow, what a bummer. Sure sounded worse than my twisted ankle fall last Dec. I hope you will feel better soon.

And I'm making a note to not go to the Little Mermaid show. It is DANGEROUS!

Dang Doc! Really sorry to hear about your situation. I guess stuff like this can happen anywhere, even within the magic bubble of WDW.

Wishing you all the best. Hopefully you can enjoy the rest of your trip and not be in too much pain.

Thank you all! Made it home slowly in the right lane - lots of travelers. Lots of pain, and I think my rib is bruised or broken too, but I still managed to have a fun time at Disney. Epcot and HS were my favs, as I could walk around and listen to music or watch performers.AKL sent up 3 zebra domes to my room as a conciliation prize.

Thanks to Julie for leaving me a Phone message - could not talk on the phone with only one hand to answer. mickey

So hoping for a June trip without a cast - we will see what Mr. Surgeon says tomorrow. Now off to finger type some lesson plans. eek
