Lone Ranger

Has anyone seen the movie yet? I have heard mixed reviews. I love Johnny Depp so I will be going but would love to hear what others thought!

I haven't seen it yet, either. Also read/heard mixed reviews. Some say it's a hoot, others say it's awful. I'll reserve judgment till I see it.

I do want to go see it, but I just don't have enough hours in my day right now. I think I'll have to wait until it's on demand through my cable.

We loved it! I have not watched the original shows on TV so maybe that is why I liked this. I took it for what it was, face value, no expectations, no comparisons to the original- just an entertaining movie! Without giving away spoilers- I felt the acting was very good, not just by the lead roles, but also by secondary actors. The plot line was well thought out and yes, Depp had some very funny lines. I would go see it again. muchlove

We are not thrilled to see it and have not. But DS (19) who has a true movie sense and Disney sense too...hated it. I think he didn't like the story line, but Lion King is his all time favorite movie, so take it for what it's worth. I think we will save our money, I have no desire to see it.
I love this blog because there is a wide array of opinions. Glad you all liked it!

I get what he is saying in that it is not a typical "Lone Ranger". I did think it was funny but the adventure factor was a bit lacking until the end. I am just such a huge Johnny Depp fan that I was bound to love it no matter what!! laugh

I told a guest at HS that Johnny Depp plays Tonto and the guest had a good laugh. He mentioned he watched the tv show growing up. Not sure what the laugh was for. I have seen the exclusive sneak preview at HS and it looks really good. Going to see it soon, hopefully this week.
