Love is a Disney Calendar

It was one year ago today that I was celebrating my birthday with my boyfriend and plethora of roommates at Animal Kingdom with a follow-up trip to the Magic Kingdom for MNSSHP in the evening. This is the first time in 3 years that I won't be at the World for my birthday and I'm missing it terribly. Thankfully we're 35 days out today - but I'm still jonesing like a mad woman.

We've got a big trip planned this year (two whole weeks!), but when we booked it late last year we were expecting a much smoother year. We purchased a new vehicle earlier this year, and the Canadian dollar was sitting pretty at nearly on par with the green-back. But over the course of the year my boyfriend became very ill and was unable to work for nearly 6 months while doctors guessed at what it could be. Within the last month he's started to feel a whole lot better, but it's resulted in this two week monster trip being on my tab.

Through the year's bumps we've done our best to keep optimistic and to try and use this upcoming trip as motivation to keep our chins up! As a result I built a massive wall calendar out of painters tape and post-it notes! It's quite the sight when you wander into our house and it takes up an entire wall in our living room. However, because it's been up for several months, and there are quite a few post-its up there, things are starting to fall apart.

Today, to celebrate my birthday and to celebrate making it through this insane year, my boyfriend gave me an 4" by 8" custom built, wall mounted, Disney calendar. It's a massive white board that he's custom framed himself and plans to hang in our living room in place of the painters tape calendar this evening. He's really the best thing that's ever happened to me - and I'm very lucky to have him Smile

I'll post some photos as soon as it's hung!!!

Awwww, that is fantastic! I can't wait to see the pictures! Also I am glad he is feeling better. It is horrible to feel sick and not know why. I was an undiagnosed Celiac up until 4 years ago, and I spent years feeling sick and never knowing why. I started to think I was going insane until I finally had my diagnosis.

We are at 36 days out, and I can barely control my excitement at this point.

Turns out his was also due to a very sudden onset of Celiac! It's crazy how much it can affect your health.

I'm just really hopeful that once all the gluten is out of his system we don't destroy that balance with the F&W Festival XD Gunna be really hard to turn down some of those gluten filled treats this year!

There are so many options at WDW that I have never felt deprived at all. I actually eat better there than I typically manage to at any restaurant at home. They are so careful too, which I really appreciate!

This is the rundown from last year. From what I have heard this year a GF menu has not been posted.

We are going to F&W on November 1st, so maybe we will see you there!

This'll be our third year going, and we've always seen the GF options - it'll be exciting to get to try them this year ^^

I've heard really good things about the food service in Disney with dietary restrictions, so I'm relieved to know that we'll be able to eat without worry of him getting ill as well Smile

How sweet of him! I'm glad he's feeling better and finally got a diagnosis of what was wrong! My dad had ended up getting sick and the local er said it was this then that then this until he finally went to a better hospital where they were able to find out what's really wrong. Not knowing whats making you sick can be horrible!

Soon we'll have photos! There was an issues with the frame that needed some addressing prior to mounting Smile

It's so awesome though! I'm really starting to wonder if our wall is large enough...
