Magic Kingdom Commemorative bricks

Anybody else have a commemorative brick outside the Magic Kingdom?

My wife and I have one at the base of the exit ramp from the monorail, and another with my parent's names on it nearby.

Just wondering because the bricks have been getting harder and harder to read, what with all the traffic that is on them. I'm thinking when we bought them, they guaranteed to leave them in place for ten years, which has now come and passed.

If and when they pull them up, I'd love the opportunity to get mine, even at a cost.

If anybody hears anything about this, keep us posted.

(Just so you know, I've heard NOTHING about them. Just thinking at some point the "clean and neat police" at WDW are going to say, "its time for these to GO!")

Well, that and the "making money" police will say, "it's time for us to make even more money by selling more bricks to replace the worn ones!"

Good question about how to get your bricks back, MT. Folks must be wondering about this by now.

Also--do you have a photo of your brick?

I do, and if I run across it I'll post it. I took it a LONG time ago and have NO idea where it is. And I NEED to know where it is.

It must be great to get off the monorail and see your little piece of history there. They should re-sell those brick spaces every 10 years so people can collect "decades" of their history.

You could choose a different "picture" on the brick based on what's happening in your life at the time. Kind of like when you mark your kids' heights on the kitchen wall.

Am I getting carried away? (Ha ha!)

Not at all. The cynic in me wonders how many people whose NAMES are on those bricks are now with.. umm... 'other people'. LOL

(Not MT. Still with MRS. MT)

I think we should all be sure to look for MT's brick next time we get off the Monorail!

Never thought about that, actually. Even more reason to do the re-bricking every ten years Space biggrin

We wanted to do the brick thing, but they sold out before we were able to do so.

Has anyone done the imaging at Epcot?

My dad did that a few years ago. Those are so small and appear sometime to be faded. I don't think I'd choose to do those.

I've never loved the aesthetic of those things in Epcot, but I do like the idea of "leaving your legacy." The brick thing seems more "substantial" to me, however.
