Minor Vent...

So yesterday I was at work here at Disneyland in the petting farm and I saw something that just made me sooo mad! The farm is totally perfect for a nice little rest area filled with goats and donkeys and cows. Kids love it. There was a family with 2 little kids, a girl and a boy, and the parents. The mom and little girl told the dad that they wanted to go see the animals..The dad proceeded to pitch a fit and say how dumb petting animals was. So the mom, rather than sticking up for the girl who was now begging to go see the goats, told her daughter, "Maybe next time, your daddys angry." And walked off with the little girl who started to cry to go with the stubborn husband. I was sooooo mad...It just blows my mind when parents come with small children and wont let them see something they really want to see...They are at Disneyland..a childs paradise...Oh it made me mad!

That is so frustrating. sad

I wish they would have thought of their daughter and her joy of petting the animals and maybe they would have gotten in a better mood from watching her!

we just took our 22 month old son to WDW (unplanned he was suposed to stay with grandparents, last minute change). as we had not planned on taking him, i knew what we were going to do. well that went out the window, we focused on him and what he would enjoy. Spent over an hour looking at the creepy crawlies at rafikis planet watch. rode its a small world umpteen times. With small children everyone will have a better time if the goal is to keep them happy. we saw so many cranky kinds & parents, the parents having what i like to call "the we are here to have fun, Damit" look & attitude. What is the point of taking your kids to Disney if you are not going to let them enjoys themselves.

I think that a lot of people build up expectations of Disney and their perfect family vacation that no park could ever live up to them. Parents can get hyper focused on the money or time and they forget to have a good time. Though it was pretty rotten, I can understand the Dad. I've spent the past 13 years managing a cranky guy who hadn't gotten the chance to enjoy himself before. He's slowly coming around to the Disney way.

I feel bad for the little one who didn't get to pet the animals, five minutes in the petting zoo wouldn't have hurt anyone.
