MK Rope Drop

If you take a bus from your resort to MK, I know that you completely miss the TTC, but are in the right spot to be able to watch Rope Drop? We've never been and I'm planning on seeing it once this trip!

When you get off the bus, follow the crowd to the entrance of MK. Rope drop takes place on the outside of the train station.

Joann, what a lovely pic! I just looked through the ones of rope drop on my phone...they're so tiny they pale in comparison with yours Smile

Good Luck, ANParker! I definitely think it's a "must do" at least once. It's so neat! Just shows the details that go into the Disney experience.

Rope drop is when the park opens. Each park use to do something to welcome guests for waking up early to visit the park. But now... only Magic Kingdom does... which makes me a sad panda.... because I LOVED HS's rope drop

Oh cool! How early do you have to be there or is it right at park open?

Epcot and DAK don't have rope drop anymore? I saw both in 2010. In 2011, we got to the parks right after opening so I thought we just missed it.

I really like the MK opening ceremony, even more since it's really the only one left. sad I try and see it at least once each trip, preferably my first day there, it just gives me that "I'm in Disney everything's magical" feeling.

Last year we did HS and dont get me wrong... there is a rope drop. But nothing like MK's. HS use to have the actors who are out and about perform a skit for us... they had a simple rope across the road, and they performed stuff on the rope... off the rope... it was great. But that was around 10 years ago. Last November... they just let us in the park. Was so disappointed. But as far as I know of... as of November... none of the other places do rope drop like MK does...
