My mom and dad...

They are in Florida for vacation. Most of their time was spent in Tampa visiting my moms aunt and uncle and the second half in Marco Island.

However, my moms birthday is Friday and she asked my dad for one thing. She wanted to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. My dad obliged but wasn't really happy about it. So they went today, they said the place was empty and they only spent a few hours there. I called her to see if she was loving it. She said she was and my dad was even having a good time.

THEN...SHE DROPPED THE BOMB ON ME...!

They were bored with IOA and wanted to head to Disney. They didn't want to spend the money on another park ticket so they just wanted to go to downtown disney. My dad got on the phone and was all excited to find out where to eat. I immediately recommended Earl of Sandwich. Then took it back. I was like if you are only going there for a few hours then go to Raglan Road. So they actually listened to me and went there. I knew my dad would love it, but I wasn't sure about my mom. But low and behold they both loved it.My dad said it was one of the best burgers he ever had. They wandered around DTD for a couple hours and then went to AKL because the last time they were in Disney it wasn't open yet. (the last time my parents were there it was the 25th anniversary, we went as a family). My mom called me and I could tell she was bit by the disney bug. She had a million questions about AKL since we stayed there for part of our honeymoon. They loved DTD and all the art stores. My dad even said if your mom wasn't so persistent on WWOHP I would have just taken her to the Magic Kingdom.

I hung up the phone and was sad because now I want to go back.

That's such a great story! I'm glad your mom and dad had an empty day at WWoHP. When I was there it was packed from wall to wall, but I still loved it!

I really love it when people go to another park and it turns them on to Disney even more.

First time we went as a family(Oct 1996), was 25th anniversary as well. I can still picture the Birthday Cake Castle. It was also the first year of F&W, but we had no clue. Now might be the time to steer Mom and Dad towards a DVC contract at AKL biggrin

So cute that the magic trickled UP in your family!

It's normally the other way, it seems...parents take you, you get hooked, you take your kids, they get hooked...but this was the other way around....AWESOME!!
