My official answer on Costumes for MNSSHP after metal detectors added.

So I was curious because with the add of the metal detectors they changes rules about costumes and because we are wanting to go in September as out main reason being the Halloween party. So I contacted customer service. This was my response on the second picture you can see what I sent to them. It was kind of a "legal" response like they didn't really say much. What I got out of it is you can still dress like a character so long as that does. It include masks, something that looks like a weapon, capes or any baggy type clothing that you can conceal something under. So I'm thinking we can still wear some sort of costume.

What I get out of this is that "Disneybounding" is still encouraged (i.e. in the spirit of the characters) and that Disney will release full details for the MNSSHP later this year. Dates are usually released in early May, so hopefully more information will come around then. I have my fingers crossed that they'll use something similar to the revised runDisney rules that were released.

Yes I hope so too. We are not sure who we are going to go as yet and I don't want to get anything until I'm sure it can be worn. Although, I am thinking about just going as Rapunzel and Flynn. But I am still looking at other options.

I'm really happy to read your email response, it gives me hope for the party! So thank you for sharing. We have actually said that if there's no dressing up we won't bother with the party, as that's half the fun for us. Maybe I will need to budget for some tickets again Wink

I know I am holding out hope! Once I saw the new costume rules for Run Disney. I decided to ask to see if they were going to do something similar for the party, doesn't hurt to ask! So I am hoping, it is really fun to dress up and I have only been able to go to the Party once and LOVED it, its actually one of the main reasons why we are getting married and going then. That and low crowds, but still there are few times in your adult life you get to dress up, lol.
