Newbie looking for much needed information

Hi everyone. I've been looking at this site since my hubby and I decided to take a WDW trip. We are planning on April 21-27 of this year. I am overwhelmed with planning. I stayed at Carribbean Beach Resort in 93. Hubby was in WDW in 83, so this really will be like a "first" trip because I didn't plan the first one I went on. We can't decide on a resort. We are strongly considering PO either Riverside or French Quarter. Which would you recommend? We have no children, so it will be just he and I traveling. All suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated. Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong area. Thanks!

WELCOME!!! We've stayed at both Port Orleans Riverside & French Quarter. Riverside is my favorite but it really comes down to what theme you prefer. Riverside is a BIG resort with the "Old South", "Gone With The Wind" type feel. The "Mansion" section of "Magnolia Bend" is my favorite. They also have "Aligator Bayou", which is more of a rustic cottage feel. Both have just been refurbished, so that is a plus!

French Quarter is all "Mardi Gras" style. The coblestoned walkways and rodiron railings, give a more intimate feel. The French Quarter is a much smaller resort and the wait time for a bus was 5 min., compared to 10 min at Riverside, when were last there in May.

Riverside has more dining options. Both are wonderful resorts. You cannot go wrong! Take a look at the website at: portorleans.org. That really has an in depth look at both.

Welcome! My bf and I stayed at POR and absolutly loved it! I personally like their pool and dining better than FQ. Also the room was very nice, we stayed in the Mansion part, not Alligator Bayou. The grounds are beautiful and the food is delicious!
