No Wi-Fi In Disney World Rooms

So I thought I'd raise this gripe again.

1.) Am I correct that there are still no resorts with Wi-Fi in the rooms? If there are it's certainly not any I've stayed at.

2.) Is the reason for this solely so they can charge you the $10 per day to get on the Internet?

1.) Yes

and

2.) Yes

laugh laugh

There's wi-fi (for a fee) in lots of deluxe resort lobbies/pool areas, however. The Where to work in Disney World article has links.

They really need to get wifi available freely, but I doubt they will. Yeah, and it's probably due to them being able to charge you for it. What a bummer. But then again, the capitalist in me says it's a beautiful strategy. mickey

I'd feel better about it if it wasn't becoming a necessity. I don't think there are many people who don't get the internet access while they're there. Of course, to be fair, the most common hotel I stay at for one of my clients, they charge $10/day for Internet too, and it's an Embassy Suites which is much more geared towards business travelers than say...The Polynesian.

How much does a wireless card cost? Might be worth the cost depending on how long you stay in a Disney resort.

Another pivotal difficulty is that you can't have two people using the same wire easily. The wi-fi solution in the article is a godsend for me.

Hopefully it will work for everyone. Probably helps if it's password protected, so your neighbors can't use it. Disney probably doesn't mind as long as you're not sharing.

Found this online: Wireless Card plans

Looks like it's $40.00-$60.00 per month, for a 2 year plan. Seems expensive unless you're going to use it all the time. Not worth it for just a Disney trip.

I suspect those will become more and more common and inexpensive. People are already having a higher expectation of connectivity because of their iPhones and Blackberries. I remember when you could only make a phone call at home, now I feel naked without my cell.

Thanks for the info, y'all! Now if I can just get King Charming to understand that a data plan for my smart phone is a necessity (even though I'm around wireless most of the day).

That's what I like to see, someone who knows the proper pluralization of "you." I get so much grief from some people who think that "y'all" is not a missing component of the English language. Where are you from where they speak correctly, like they do here in Texas?

I was born and raised in South Carolina and y'all is just the way I learned to talk. What I can't stand is when someone writes it ya'll. The contraction is of "you all", y'all, thus the apostrophe replaces the "ou"! LOL

But then when I was young I met King Charming and he's from NYC. Guess that explains why my kids are so screwed up?

Y'all gots ta forgetaboutit! silly

And yes, when it's added to the dictionary, it will be correctly spelled "y'all."

I'm glad I'm not the only one is trying to educate New Yorkers on proper English!

I don't know what I'd do without internet access on my phone. I use it all the time.

Last time we were at WDW - we stayed at the Poly and brought our laptop - ten we found out we had to pay for internet so we went without. My husband was dumbfounded that it wasn't free, considering how much we paid for the room! laugh

This upcoming trip my laptop is staying home. I have already told my boss not to give me any work the week I am gone - so I won't even be checking in! I will give real time updates via Twitter and Facebook though! clapping
