October Weather Question..

Hi Folks...All our five previous trips have been in July, however this year is our first in October..I know that it's still warm during the day but can anyone tell me what it's like at night as my DW was considering taking a cardigan.

She might need that cardigan. We've been a couple of times in October, and while it's usually comfortable in the evening (at least by my standards, and probably by yours since you live even farther north than I do), there was a night or two when it got a tad chilly.

I need a light sweater a night, especially in World Showcase. It gets very breezy there.

Cheers girls...Have passed on your advice to my wee princess.. wink

Our nights here in October can definitely get chilly. My DH and I take hoodies each time we go to WDW in October. It is also one of the best months to visit Florida. The weather is perfect IMO. But, I'd recommend light to medium weight jackets for everyone. I'm sure even Scottish kings get cold once in awhile, right biggrin

Has anyone swam during October at WDW? Just curious if it's warm enough to swim at the pool or even visit a water park?

Okay. Just wondering because people were saying bring a jacket! haha We want to visit during this time of year, but also go to the water parks. Good to know! Thanks Robyn! Smile

I haven't been in October yet. My friends and I always have some pool time in November. I'm sure October is even better.

We've been to the water parks in November so I agree with JoAnn that October should be even better mickey

laugh No Robyn I've never been to the UK but it is a dream vacation of mine someday!

Eeyore, it's warm enough here in FL to swim during the day, most days in October. But it can feel quite chilly to some people once the sun has gone down. It's usually in the high 70's or low 80's during the day and low to mid 60's when the sun goes down. It can be pretty windy here in Oct. too. I personally LOVE our weather in Oct, but I also wouldn't go to WDW w/o a jacket or hoodie in Oct.

Well I've seen locals in Greece wearing Woolie cardigans in September, and we are still in T shirts and shorts...I think it depends where you live...Here in Scotland we get the 4 seasons in one day...LOL... eek Today ( Sunday .) is a lovely sunny day and although it's 09.30am...I'am wearing my shorts...It's a glorious 8* outside....Brrrrrrrrr

We've visited the water parks in October and November and felt just fine. The water might feel a bit chilly when you first get in, but you'll acclimate quickly and feel just fine.

This advice is for Northerners, including British, Irish, Canadians, and Americans who live near or above the Mason-Dixon Line. If you're from any warmer climate you may disagree with my opinion. I once went to a few baseball games in southern California, all on beautiful warm evenings with temps ranging from the high 60s to low 70s. We wore T-shirts while all the locals surrounding us were bundled up in their hoodies and jackets and staring at us as if we were insane.

Well let me tell you King, I am Norwegian born and lived in Boston my whole life since so obviously am used to cold, my wife and I don't even pack a jacket or sweatshirts for us, have never needed them in October, we go swimming at night when we get back from the parks. We do pack a light jacket for our ds or "wee boy" as you light say but the only time he needed it was in world showcase when it was windy. Never known it to get below 60 at night.
