Octoberfest?

My boys just realized Beirgarten is a buffet. My 2 mobile stomachs want to know how's the food. Not that they would notice, as they consume their food like snakes (unhinge jaws and dump in said food) But my dh would care about the food and beer selection. I'm more interested in the atmosphere and maybe a glass of wine. Worth it for lunch? THNX

I love the Biergarten. German food can be heavy, so it's not a place I'd want to dine frequently, but every now and then is perfect. I'd go for just the apple strudel.

Sorry to be a nay-sayer but this was hands down our absolute least favorite restaurant in DW. The food was bland and luke warm. Other things we had issues with (that others might not experience) were that the table we sat at, with a bunch of other unfriendly strangers, was up against a wall and 3/4 of the table couldn't see the stage. Ended up not mattering because our reservation was at 8:00 and they stopped playing music at either 8:15 or 8:30. We literally heard music for about 10 minutes before they ended. And to top it all off we had a completely absent server who was more concerned about cleaning up so he could go home than actually waiting on us. It was the worst experience we've had at DW to date. I think it has the potential to be better than we experienced but I probably wouldn't give it a second shot. At least not for a long time.

OK, have to be honest. I have never been a fan of German food, so this place has never made my "to do" list. I would go for the alpine horn and music, though.

Different strokes, etc. If Via Napoli didn't have good pizza I would never eat at any WDW Italian restaurant because I'm just not a fan, but most folks love Italian. So if your family likes wursts and kraut and schnitzel, go for it. If not, there are other spots where the boys can fill the bottomless pits they call stomachs.

Oh, my, that looks so good. I haven't eaten there since November 2011 and now I want to go back.

It's on the short list for us! I'm up for anything at least once!

Like Teppan Edo, at Biergarten you will be seated with strangers. This can be a deal breaker for some folks. The tables are pretty long so there will probably be a lot of them.

We were there with some friends from Tampa who have a son who is an Air Force pilot. Ended up meeting a family who also had a son who was an Air Force pilot. It can be fun meeting strangers and finding a common bond!

Same. We'll do it eventually just to say we have, but I'm not in any rush right now.
