Polynesian DVC Rooms... ugh

We are back from a great 5 night trip to Disneyworld! We loved just about every second of the trip.. the FP+, the ADR, the July 4th fireworks. We had lunch and breakfast at Be Our guest, enjoyed the buffet (and beer!) in Germany and stayed until 2:30 am after the July 3rd fireworks show.

HOWEVER --

the rooms at the Polynesian for the DVC leave something left to be desired. From inadequate A/C to improper plumbing to something as simple as doors not sliding. In the first day and a half we had to call 3 times for facilities to fix something. The studio is set up nicely. The 1 and a 1/2 bathrooms are a nice touch. But not enough to make up for a very unpleasant room experience. I have been to Saratoga Springs, a few of the All Star Resorts, the Contemporary, Carribean Beach Club and Aulani (Hawaii) .. NONE of these ever offered such a sub par environment (for Disney that is).

mad

So sorry to hear about the problems, you're not the first that I've read that's for sure Wink but it does make me feel glad that I didn't swap our VGF to PVB in December....

rolling rolling rolling gaah

Well, that is the problem with not building a new building and just refurbishing an old one to make people think its new.
We have Poly DVC booked for January. I did here a lot about flooding, toilets and sinks overflowing, AC not working and such. Hope they have it all taken care of before you go in Sept Colonel! I'll try to keep you informed when we are there in Sept before you.

Sorry the room wasn't wonderful for you Blugtrman68. sad I still don't understand how they made the rooms bigger if they didn't make the building bigger and didn't lose any rooms in the buildings.

I've also been hearing about a potential catastrophe they've been working on at the Poly. They're trying desperately to stop the progress of a sink-hole that may, if uncontrolled, swallow the whole resort.

I've been hearing that one for years! There may be another one, have not heard, but people have been saying that for years.

his is the most recent and it was 2 years ago and it was near Disney, not on property.

If it happens, just re-theme it. Disney's Mayan Cenote Resort and Spa. Problem solved.
