POP CENTURY QUESTION

Just about to check-in online for my trip on Sunday. I am staying at the POP CENTURY. I know it is not a guarantee, but which "decade/section" do you recommend staying in. If I get two requests, I might as well use them. My aunt (travel agent) already put in the request for a King Size Bed (this is a priority haha)! Is there a section cleaner? Newer? More accessible? My last trip to WDW was in 2005 and I stayed at the Pop Century. I do not remember where my room was, I just remember that It was a far walk from the bus.

Thanks for your help!

I don't know too much about pop... But I do know that one century is closer to certain things than another... But I'm not sure which. I wanna say the fifties.., but I think I'm wrong...?

Did you get a standard room or preferred? I always get standard and have stayed in both 50's and 60's. If standard, building 1 (50's) and building 4 (60's) aren't too far from Everything Pop and the busses. There are some buildings in the 70's that don't seem too bad either. Stay away from the 80's and 90's. Those are the furthest.

Thank you! We chose a standard room.

When we stayed at Pop, we had a standard room with a king bed in the 80's section. We were on the ground floor facing out onto the computer pool. The room was very nice for 2 people and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. We had plenty of room for a fridge (back when fridge swaps happened), luggage, etc. I'm afraid I can't give you any information about the walk to/from the buses since we had a car for that trip.

And if I remember correctly, Joanne C, weren't you the one who said you watched the fireworks from your room when you stayed in the 50s? We were talking about it on another one of the threads.

You are correct. I was able to see the fireworks from my room in the 50's last year. I was also able to see them from near my room this year in the 60's section.

That is SO cool...I think that's a really neat advantage to staying in those sections. I wonder if the same thing goes for certain sections of AoA?

Cool, I'm also staying at Pop with my mom, who has back issues and would like to be closer to the main building...Which decade is that?

The 60's is the closest to the main building. There are building in the 50's and70's that aren't too far.
