Renting points?

I have recently looked into this for our upcoming trip, we have 2 free nights in the middle and looking at a way of staying onsite without a huge price tag.

Has anyone ever done this?

What are the pros and cons?

Don't suppose anyone wants to rent me about 30 for a studio in october?

I don't have any extras to rent out right now.
I've sent many people here http://www.dvcrequest.com/
But have never used them myself.

Thanks for that Kristen! Have you ever rented out points before?

I have not personally rented out points, though if I had extras I wouldn't mind. I only have 185 a year though, so I don't usually have any extra.

Yeah... Kristen pretty much nailed it. We haven't used them before, but I have heard good things about them. The site is pretty good at honoring everything. Usually stress free which is what you want for your vacation.

Do you lose some value in renting points when you use a broker rather than renting directly from a DVC member?

Yes I think so Nancy, they have to make their money somewhere I guess!

It depends on what you would be charged by the member. I *think* (I haven't done it myself so I'm not sure) brokers charge about $13 a point to rent points and the members get about $10 of that. As far as I know there are no rules about how much you can or can't rent your points for.
