Food from the Flower and Garden Festival's outdoor kitchens, Thursday, March 5.

First up is my photo of the spring rolls from the China booth. (All the booths had names, but I don't remember most of them.) The spring rolls were AWESOME and good enough to get again, which I did since I ended up with extra days at WDW. Robyn and I shared; each of us had one spring roll.

Also from China, the kung pao chicken in a steamed bun, Robyn's photo. We cut this one in half and shared it also. Quite tasty.

Our next stop was the Japanese booth, I think it's called Hanami, but don't hold me to it. These are both Robyn's photos of the chicken curry bun. It was also very tasty; we each got our own since I really wanted to try it and Robyn wouldn't have wanted to share the salmon sushi with me.

Last up, Robyn's photo of the Dole Whip! No, we didn't get it with alcohol, and unfortunately the version on a waffle that I loved last year isn't offered this time around.

And that is the last of the WDW food we both enjoyed. Robyn has some photos of her airport Outback dinner, and I have other food photos in my Snow Days report, including more from the F&G kitchens.

As Jan said, my last meal was sat on my lonesome in Outback Steakhouse in MCO. I had the chicken and bacon Swiss which was a grilled chicken burger topped with bacon, Swiss cheese and honey and mustard dressing. I got it with a baked potato and a wallerby darned cocktail (which actually cost more than my dinner!!!)

The food was lovely, I do always miss visiting some of the offsite places to eat when I stay in the disney bubble.

Robyn, what shall we do next? Characters? Parades? Rides? Shows? Fireworks? Etc.? I started the food postings, so you choose this time.

Okay, then! Because you can never get enough FOOD photos, here's what I ate during my extra days at WDW.

First up, more Flower and Garden Festival stuff, which I had on Friday, March 6: corn arepa with a spicy beef filling, very nice; pistachio baklava with white sangria, both very nice (I love baklava!); and salmon sushi with three sauces, my favorite, pictured with the half-drunk sangria. I also had more spring rolls, see above for a photo of those. Earlier in the day I had a gigantic apple fritter from the little coffee and pastry stand near Toy Story Mania, but I have no photo. It was huge, couldn't finish it all.

From Saturday, March 7, breakfast from the All-Star Sports food court, delicious and very filling, which is why I couldn't eat anything else until I returned to All-Star in the evening and got the turkey dinner (because it was the only counter without a line). The turkey was oversalted but otherwise quite tasty; I would get it again.

And from Sunday, March 8, my second departure day, another breakfast from the food court, also delicious and filling. I couldn't finish it all.

Characters!

Robyn and I usually handed one mobile phone over to a CM to get photos with characters, or occasionally I handed over my camera, so some photos are on mine and others are on hers. I will post the ones taken with my devices, and Robyn, would you like to post the ones taken with yours?

I'll start with a green army man (which I took) and Minnie Mouse, taken by a CM at DHS.

More characters!

The first, Timon, wasn't a character meet, but how can I not include this guy flirting with Robyn?

Next up, Chip and Dale, with Dale also flirting with Robyn.

And a couple of shots of Hiro and Baymax. Because of the long line, we didn't meet them ourselves.

This one is funny. When we entered MK one afternoon we spotted Mary Poppins and a penguin doing a meet-and-greet, so I went over to get a photo. Mary, being a proper British nanny, immediately pointed me out and shouted, "Is that woman with your party? Is that woman with your party?" Guess she didn't want me taking photos of other people's children. So in deference to her sensibilities, I have cropped out most of the child. But hah, I did get the photo.

Talking Mickey at MK. I may be encroaching on Robyn's photo here. She and I have already shared numerous photos, so where character photos taken by CMs are concerned, I judge which are mine and which are hers by how many photos I have - if I have half a dozen or more, I assume my camera took them. In this case, I only have two, but I recall that I took most of the photos this day so Robyn wouldn't use up her phone's battery too quickly. The park wifi isn't always reliable, so I turned wifi off on my phone. Robyn, being from the UK, had no choice but to use wifi to avoid huge international phone fees. She wanted to save battery life to communicate with Simon back home along with other friends and relatives.

I like talking Mickey! Robyn said she thinks he's a little creepy. Mickey did a card trick for us, had Robyn pick a card from his oversized deck, then he correctly guessed it was the Queen of Hearts. Then I took a card, and it was also the Queen of Hearts. The whole deck was. "Guess I should've only done that one once," Mickey said. I realize it's all scripted, but it's still fun.

Also, Stitch over in Tomorrowland. Stitch didn't appreciate my Splash Mountain T-shirt; he seemed to think I should have a Stitch T-shirt, so I told him that yes, I should get one with him on it. Didn't get around to it on this trip, but a promise is a promise, so someday.

Princesses! Does anyone else think their dresses are a bit off color-wise? Shouldn't Rapunzel's dress be more purple and Cinderella's more blue, closer to the shade of her headband?

Gaston was in fine form the day we saw him. He was about to go on break, and the line of people waiting to see him after break was quite long, so we just watched him meet others and snapped a few photos.

The girl in the photo below told Gaston she was his biggest fan and she'd met him something like half a dozen times (Robyn, do you remember?). He turned her around and called to a girl in the line waiting to see him after the break. He called her by name and asked how many times she'd been to see him; her response was unbelievably high (again, maybe Robyn remembers, but I think it was up near 100 times or perhaps more). And I should point out that nearly everyone waiting to meet Gaston was a teenage girl or young-ish woman. (I say young-ish because to me, Robyn is still a very young woman, but perhaps she feels a bit older than that. It's the perspective of old age, I guess!)

And that's it for my character photos. Robyn has several more and also got some screen captures of PhotoPass pictures.

I may well have had a full on flirt with Timon, but Jan wasn't without her share of male character loving... Baloo took a real shine and kept posing for pics and coming up to cuddle her! Was so cute!

We walked past the Epcot meet and greet and there was no wait so we decided to head inside. We had already met Minnie that morning over in HS, we told her we noticed she had got changed and she fell right in like she remembered us LOL was so funny.

Sadly the goofy pic was blurry Sad
