LoL... actually I have an antique singer sewing machine in the corner of the living room that I try to make a desk.

Hey! I have one just like it! Hubby refinished it and put a keyboard slider under the top for my ...well, keyboard. I am tall and this is the perfect height and I had it in my classroom for years. Coo! awesome

I would also like to point out that an answer to a question that is now two years old may not be accurate anymore. I came on this wonderful site only a few months ago to find all the most current information. I know about two years ago. So if someone asks a repeat question, maybe we need to look at the most current answer or just post the answer link? I don't see VelcroPooh posting, so I hope we haven't lost her. crossfingers

Afraid so..VelcroPooh has left the magic circle...Not sure why.?..And yes, I agree that a two year old subject may be old news, in fact I just got a phone call today from someone who is going back to WDW this year after a 4 year absence with her new 3 yr old girl..Wanted to know about Mickeys Toon town.. eek Had to tell her it's now a part of Fantasyland..

I don't think the issue is so much about posting a new thread that was covered years ago. It's when a new thread is started sometimes days or just weeks apart on the same topic or asking the same question and sometimes by the same author.

Hypothetical example..

I start a new thread 2 weeks ago titled "What's the best camera to take to WDW". Then today I start another thread titled "What camera should I get to bring to Disney World." Same question worded slightly differently. Why not continue the conversation in the original thread? There's absolutely no need for a new one.

Now, if there was the same type of camera thread from 2 years ago, then yes, that will probably contain outdated info or may be very long and unwieldy. In that case it's probably appropriate to start a fresh one.

This is NOT unique to this forum btw. I belong to many other forums of various interests as I'm sure most of us do. People will sometimes register just to post a specific question that's been covered many times already which they would have known had they done a search first. In those cases, someone will usually post a reply stating it's been covered many times and here are some links to the previous threads.

I love all the sharing on here and so many great people, but I'm afraid to post any questions in fear of it being a repeat. I'll stay in the corner so I can at least still learn.

Don't be afraid! Post, post! I think it is normal for older topics to be brought up by someone who has not previously posted about it. You're question may be different or receive different responses than the same question that was asked several years ago! mickey

awesome As a newbie around here I completely agree!
