SO dissapointed! Booked Fultons for my Dads special birthday and it's closed for refurbishment!

I am so sad right now - it's my Dads 58th Birthday on the 13th of May and we are at Disney and he really wanted to go to Fulton's Crab House for his dinner. I booked it 180 days in advance for all 7 of us!

Anyway, I'm checking the page fo Fultons today to look at the menu and it says it is closed for refurbishment in May - but noone has told us this and our booking still shows!! What do I do?!

Is there any other good seafood restaurants at Disney that might have space for 7 on the 13th May? Dad had his heart set on Fultons and it's just so sad :/

Bummer!! Did you call them directly? I would do that before I switched. Fulton's is great, but I thought it was pretty expensive. I would either check the brand new Boathouse right next door or if you were after the crab legs, check Cape May Cafe. Cape May has unlimited crab legs and other assort seafood and non-seafood entrees for around $40/person. One pound of crab legs at Fulton's was $55 the last time I was there. eek

If not on the dining plan, I would suggest Todd English's Bluezoo at the Dolphin.

I've been on hold for 35 mins to talk to someone only to be very rudely told that if theres no availability on the restaurant my dad wants to go to (Wolfgang Puck) then they cant do a thing. Really upset Disney never told us that Fultons is closed and mega upset its too late for his second choice.

She even asked me if I wanted to cancel the booking we have (I booked The Boathouse after seeing Fultons was closed this morning) and see if we could get as walk up on that day. What sort of logic is that?

Rebecca the Boathouse is very good. We had an excellent meal there. Sort of odd you were even able to book the reservation for Fultons considering it has been on the list for refurb for a while now.

I had no idea about the refurb at all, but did book in Novemberish time and hadn't looked since. Miffed Disney didn't contact me - the lady even read out my email and mobile number to check, so eh.

Oh well, Dad wants to try Johnnies Hideaway instead, which looks a lot of fun Smile
Aaaand breathe. I feel better now. Nothing worse than feeling you've let someone down. muchlove

What a bummer. That seems weird that they wouldn't send something out to anyone who already had booked reservations..... yuck

Same thing happened to me! Had ADR on 05/21 for eight people. Noticed on the Internet that Fulton's was closing for refurb. Called Disney Dining and they were not aware of it! CM connected me directly to Fulton and the closing was confirmed. What is even worse is that DH and I had eaten there at the end of January and we told our waiter we would be back in May. I don't think he was aware of the closing either! eek

It's really strange to me that they would not let people who had reservations know. I mean we have to give enough information to make the reservation! This thread inspired tomorrow's article on the blog for sure.

Yeah - they rung Fultons for me, too - they seemed really confused about it. Oh, well. We will have to go there next time Wink!!

The rep seemed sure that they would have got in touch, but I keep my phone with me all the time and I've had nothing even via email. I asked her to read me the contact details they have for me and it was all correct. Hmn.

Thank you I have now added Cape May dinner to my Reservations, I can not pass up a buffet with Crab Legs!

You definitely should have been contacted and let know. I feel like some of the Refurbs lately have been not that solid in plans. The only thing that was supposed to be closed during out trip was it's a small world which was opening back up on the 15th of September we leave the 18th. Now they just pushed Big Thunder Mountain's Refurb further back and it will be closed from August to November and it is one of my favorite rides.

But if it is something you had reservations for you definitely should have been notified. I can't believe it still says you have the reservation when its supposed to be closed.

Well I am offically late to this party, but the wife and I are very sad to see Fulton's closed this past weekend. We had spent many a Sunday lunches there before our trip back. This place will be sorely missed. The sign outside it said that wit was going to be renamed Paddlefish and open in the fall. If anyone wants I still have the recipe for their crab dip appetizer (Fulton's Crab Boursin).
