While waiting for my laundry to finish I was "stalking" some of the other Disney forums to see what people had to say. One of the topics was a rumor that Soarin' is going to be changed to Soarin' Over the World. I like Soarin' but think it would be cool to see a change of scenary. One of the commentors suggested making it like Star Tours and having multiple destinations that are picked at random.
Have any of you heard this rumor? What are your thoughts on it?
I think that would be cool! And a better fit for Epcot, since they have World Showcase. The current video needs to be cleaned up or redone anyway, there was noticeable dirt and scratches on it the last time I rode.
I haven't heard that rumor, but that sounds really cool!
They'd have to switch to a digital projector to make the scenes changable, which would sort out the issues with the film being scratched at the same time. It would probably cost a fortune to film new scenes so I don't think they would do too much unless the rides popularity began to wane.
I can only please one person per day. Today isn't your day... tomorrow doesn't look good either.

I hadn't heard this but I think it would be really cool if they did the multiple different ride choices like star tours....only problem with that would be that the line is always so long so it would be hard to see the different scenes unlike Star Tours where there is never a line
Personally dont think the ride will change for a while... It is so popular, I would love to see all different countries, but I dont think it will change for some time. Star Tours was the same for a long time. Soarin has only been there for a few years.

I heard this a long time ago...whenever Soarin' came was when they were doing something special from all the parks over the world..Soarin came from Disneyland...LMA Stunt Show came from Disneyland Paris..and that Dinosaur animatonic came from somewhere in Asia but it never worked..supposedly the intent (or rumor) was the Soarin' would change to an America theme after that celebration was over. I cannot for the life of me remember what the celebration was called but it was the one right before The Happiest Celebration on Earth. I would like to see it change to America though...that would be awesome.

If they change it... they will do it like how Star Tours is. I think thats the future of rides like this. Unpredictable rides. We rode Star Tours 3 times in a row just so we could see all the different scenes. The same would go for Soarin and its still hugely popular.
I had only heard this in the terms of people saying "I wish they would". I adore Soarin' just how it is, I hope that they don't change it. If I want to see the rest of the world, I'll head to World Showcase.

Ill put it this way. I think we rode it a total of 8 times, and still didn't see 3-5 scenes maybe? Its split up into 3 scenes, Take Off, Middle, and Arrival (At least what I call them). And We got repeats of Take Off and Arrival within the 3rd time. So I don't think they made a lot of those two to be honest.... but the middle ones... we were getting new ones, and repeats probably after the 5-6th time. Like I said... I've seen them all on YouTube, but have not rode them all. Its something I plan on finishing this November if my stomach allows it... lol. I can usually do it 3-4 times before either headache or stomach starts kicking in... lol
