As Soon As I Walk Into Magic Kingdom, I...

I miss the World, People! And I don't know when I'll ever get back into one of those parks, even though the Vacation Kingdom taunts me from a mere 50 miles away.

So I thought I'd start a few threads. After this, the next three will be pretty predictable. Please humor me.

What is the VERY first thing you do as soon as you break onto Main Street at Magic Kingdom? Same thing every time or do you vary the routine?

After grabbing a map (or two, or three), we stare in wonder at the castle...and normally head to the bathrooms by guest relations. Smile

What about you?

We grab a times sheet (always a must) and then look around to see what characters are there. We also look at the train to see if it a good time to get on.

Nooooooo, not ears dipped in chocolate. Plain is the only way to have it. All though I must confess the best one I had was at the Coronado Springs Resort. It was so good.

Go to Town Hall and see what buttons they have, then stare at the Castle!

Usually hang around the square for a bit and take it all in.

Lizzy, you live 50 miles away?? I always assumed you were closer than close..I imagined you right in Lake Buena Vista for some reason! laugh My dreams are shattered.

We have a weird tradition of always walking through the left tunnel to go in. We have never ever gone in through the right..we leave through either one..but walking in it's always the left. It's so weird.

We usual stare for a few minutes and almost always take tons of pictures. Then we book it to Fantasyland because nothing kicks off a trip like a little Philharmagic..then to Adventureland!

We spend a great deal of time on Main Street. Most often our first stop after that is the Haunted Mansion.

I know it sounds like a lot, but everything in Orlando tends to be kinda spread out. When Hubs and I were dating and working at Disney, he lived on one side of property (Northish), and I lived on another (southwestish) and it was like 25 miles to get from his place to mine. So 50 sounds crazy, but it doesn't feel that far away. If you're starting through Orlando on I-4, we're on the northeast side, and WDW's on the southwest side. It's not bad at all Smile Well, unless there's a traffic jam. As for living here vs. over there, by the attractions...I've done both, and I WAAAAYYYY prefer where I am now. Might take a little longer to get to WDW, but I'm much closer to the beach, and away from the tourist melee if I want to be Smile

Do the rice krispies have gluten in them?

I don't have a tradition (yet). Last year, my first stop after entering the Magic Kingdom was the Walt Disney World Railroad.

Typically they malt the rice crispies. This comes from barley which has gluten. Some malt flavorings are ok, but unless it lists where its derived from I've learned malt is a no no.

Wow - I'm learning a ton between you and my friend Tonya. I had no idea there were so many pitfalls out there. Makes me feel more appreciative, and sensitive to the needs of others for sure.

I'm with Catherine. I enjoy the walk up Main Street and then a bee-line directly through the castle to Peter Pan's flight!

I look down Main Street at the Castle, tear up, and I thank Walt & Roy for giving me the most joy I have had in my life. I am grateful for so many things, but those 2 men are the best. Genius, absolute Genius!!!! mickey

Well... I don't know why CDF hits it first, but the PhotoPass stations are where you can check out all of your photo's Cast Members have taken of you in the parks. Usually the Cast Member that takes the photo will hand you a card, and that card will have the information of all the photo's taken with you on. And say incase you forget your card, and acquire a new one... you can then merge them at a PhotoPass station and such. But CDF can explain why they head there first... lol
