Stuff Everyone Dislikes But You Enjoy?

Considering how our topic, "What Do Others Rave About That You just Don't Get?" is one of our interesting and more popular topics, I think it's time to ask the opposite. So what are the attractions a good solid portion of Disney fans don't like but for you for whatever reason, you have a soft spot for that or you thoroughly enjoy. This is the time for all you good people to confess your guilty pleasures about WDW. laugh

For me, I know a good portion loathe Tomorrowland Indy Speedway but it's still a favorite of mine. I think it's because since my parents didn't take to Disney very often, I never got to experience a common father-son moment. What I mean is being that 4-5 year old boy sitting in the car with your father by your side while you get to drive for the first time. It's nothing but joy, excitement and a lot of fun. I've done the Speedway and it's always me driving solo but I could only imagine how I would have felt if I got drive those cars at a young age with my father right next to me. Plus I think it's one of the only times where you drive for fun. We often need to drive to get to work, buy groceries, dine or even travel to Disney World. We often can't drive for leisure these days because it wastes gas and money. Even for other amusement parks, they'll have an extra separate charge for the go-karts that is not included with park admission. The Speedway at Disney, on the other hand, allows us to drive without having to worry about gas, money or even getting into a major wreck and dealing with the insurance! laugh Could the cars go faster? Absolutely, it wouldn't hurt to go just a little faster than 5 mph. Does it bring a nasty smell with all the cars? Yes, it does and if they were to go electric or something, I wouldn't mind. Could it be re-themed to Cars, Tron or Wreck It Ralph? Possibilities are endless with re-theming. Does it take up a lot of space? No doubt about it. But there's got to be some things for the males enjoy.

But that's just me. What about the rest of you?

Turkey leg. Oh that polarizing hunk of meat. How I did not think of that? It's definitely on the salty side but the meat is nice and moist. I can see why some dislike it because of its distinct odor and taste. I enjoy them though I personally prefer the pork shank over that.

I love the Enchanted Tiki Room and it gets a lot a flack sometimes. I hated "Under New Management" and I am *SO* happy that they went back to something closer to the original show. I will never ever get tired of it. mickey

it's a small world.

I realize several people here love it. But among the people I actually travel to WDW with, I'm the only one. I can get hubby on it exactly once per trip. But when I went alone, I must've ridden it half a dozen times at least.

Small World - I have to. And I could every day. I love it.
Animation Academy - every time. People I travel with don't like waiting around for it, but it's worth it for me.
Maelstrom - it's the Norwegian in me. Smile

Carousel of Progress and PeopleMover, love them both and also the Tomorrowland Speedway, I just love to see my kids faces when they get to steer themselves, they love it even without retheming.

Interesting how Peter Pan's Flight showed up on these posts. I thought it was a fan favorite. I can see how some people don't like the queue and the long lines for a short ride. Or maybe that ride gets overlooked by the three mountains, Pirates of the Caribbean and others.....

I'm glad some people said that they like small world. I'm just sort of "meh" about it. Don't love it, don't hate it, always miss it if I don't ride.

King Fergus

Stitch..I remember sitting next to this woman in her 60's and when the overhead rest landed on her shoulders she started shouting " Let me out of here " in a strange foreign language..( sounded Albanian/Serbian ) anyway, I couldn't stop laughing..I tried to reassure her it was only a show... sarcastic

Make it happen, Ken! I would try it!

For me it's Country Bear Jamboree, People Mover (though it does have a cult following mickey ), Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, and Backlot Tour.

rolling rolling

I've heard a fair number of people who are anti-Carousel of Progress, but that's one of my favorite things ever. I love the song and I practically have the show memorized. It's like visiting old friends.

Ooh! I got one. Sort of. It's a little passe since the song has been changed back to the original. Anyhow ...

I liked the "Now is the Best Time of Your Life" song at Carousel of Progress better than the current/original "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow."

I'm a fan of Captain EO and it seems that there are a lot of anti-EO folks on the board. I pretty much love and will go on all of the rides though. cool

Me too! While I do think it should be updated and that HIStA is better. Captain EO speaks to the 80s Child in me. Wink We should meet up and catch a showing! lol!

I also like Universe of Energy/Ellen's Energy Adventure (again, agree that it does need an update).
