Thoughts about Yacht/Beach Club

Has anyone stayed at Yacht or Beach (specifically Yacht--I don't think I know of anyone that's stayed there!)? Did you enjoy it? What are the highlights?

I haven't stayed there, but being that close to Beaches and Cream would be awesome.

Likewise, I have never stayed there, Closest I have ever stayed at was the Boardwalk Villas and that was awesome but still not the one you are inquiring about. Sorry!

@dsoup: No kidding!

@Vettelover: How did you like BWV? What was your view?

@Annie: We would love to stay at Yacht Club. You're right that nobody ever seems to stay there, which makes me wonder if it's a bit less crowded.

SpaceAce; We loved Boardwalk and we were overlooking the Courtyard on the first floor and if we looked to our left we could see the friendship boats docking. The only drawback in my opinion was that there are no rest. actually IN the Boardwalk itself and we had to go outside for anything even a quick morning donut. Of course the surrounding restaurants are all great.

The no restaurants in the resort has always been a sticking point for me. But you DO have Beaches and Cream and the others near by...plus Epcot!

Sounds like a great room. We've thought seriously about doing an Epcot resort next time...

Annie--I've been at Beach Club Villas several times and really loved it. Being that close to Epcot is so convenient. I've never stayed at Yacht Club, but I sure do like eating there! Wink

Also, Cape May Cafe is really fun, and now they have Yoga classes and campfire/movie night on the beach. Plus you're right next to the Boardwalk for your Jellyrolls fix.

I stayed at the Beach Club in 2000. It was my Dream Resort, like some poeple fantasize about staying at GF, I wanted to stay at BC. I paid rack rate too, not even an AP discount. But it was worth every penny. I think it's a lovely resort.

We had a ground floor room on the Epcot side. In the afternoons, after my break, I'd sit on the patio with my coffee & listen to British Invasion. At night, if we were back in our room, we could see the fireworks from Illuminations over the treetops.

For breakfast, you have CapeMay or the Yacht Club Galley. Or for a quick breakfast, at that time, we had to walk over to Boardwalk Bakery. I actually liked dooing that. I like watching Crescent Lake "wake up" in the morning. I'm a morning person.

Stormalong Bay is really fantastic. You just can't beat it.

I'd stay there again in a heartbeat if I could get a decent rate. That's really the only thing that puts me off, it's just so damn expensive. Other than that, love the location, love the theme, had great service.....

I'd have to say the Dolphin still wins even if the rates were the same. The beds, the service & the dining really can't be beat for me. I still daydream about staying at other places tho....esp. AKL.

That's always been my problem with Boardwalk/Yacht/Beach. They are nice, but I don't find the experience as compelling as AKL or WL and they cost the same if not more.
