Ticket Increase

So as we all know, Disney has announced a new ticket increase. How do you feel about ticket increases? Do they impact your decision to come, or are package rates/annual pass prices still good enough that it doesn't bother you?

I will still go and everything but it really grinds my gears that they raise prices so much. I mean, I understand from a economic standpoint..I just dont like having to pay extra. Here is an example, our trip next year is the exact same as the one we had the cancel this year. Same dates, hotel, dining plan etc..and it is roughly 150 dollars more. Why???

No one likes price increases but I guess I can understand why Disney has to raise prices. I work for a very very small business. I pretty much do it all in the office from paying bills, doing payroll, to billing. I can honestly tell you that in this tiny little business our expenses have nearly doubled in a year. Health insurance alone is a killer. I can not even begin to imagine what Disney pays for its employees. We sell propane and other gasses. Propane prices are very high just like gas for your car. I believe Disney uses propane for Illuminations. Then just think about how many employees you encounter on your trip. I am sure Disney employees want raises each year just like we do. I do not remember how long your trip is but if it is 6 days, the $150 ends up costing each of you just $12.50 more per day. Not a real big increase when you look at it that way. Of course I have no idea how much of that increase is to cover cost and how much will be profit but I have to assume some of it will go towards higher cost of everything.
I am really not trying to defend Disney's price increases. That is just how I convince myself that it is necessary.

Ok! We all have to make sure we get an extra $12.50 of disney fun every day! clapping
That means everyday I get TWO mickey bars instead of one and an extra ride on the haunted mansion. That's worth $12.50 a day to me!

YES! I like the way you think JP!!

I've gotten to the roll with it stage - everything just costs more and more. If I enjoy it, I figure out a way to deal with it. It's still the best vacation option for us and still worth it.

Doesnt bother me to much. Ive been a Disney Stock Holder since I was like 8 or something... and its been a while since ive seen the stock do well. I dont think this is going to help... but I know Disney is hurting as well from it. So I understand the price hike.

I'm going to have to agree with JeffC on this one.. At this point I just go with it.. The price of everything is going up and I do my best just to make it work from my end. It does make it harder for us to go to Disneyland at Christmastime but that is our (my and Andy's) gift to each other so we have to make it work, LoL! It's a bummer but I try not to think about it really..

I think this is a great point. We love it. We're going to do it. No point in getting hyper about it, especially since it's just a few dollars.

Do you ever think you'd have a Disney tipping point though? I used to think I had a Starbucks tipping point. Turns out it was temporary, and I was right back in the coffee cow line within a couple of weeks wink We all have our vices, I suppose.
