That's a bummer! I would love to meet up with you guys!! I looked at the overlap chart and I think we only overlap with one person in August--and they're on DCL. It may be a short trip, but there will be a detailed trip report!!

Its really strange it will only let me in to MK the other parks say I don't have a valid ticket!!! I'm just happy I can stalk availability to cure my boredom!!!! haha

Well, a few new pieces of information have altered our plans slightly. The first was the announcement that DHS would be the summer headquarters for Frozen fun times, so instead of doing MK on our full day, we'll be doing DHS.

The second was that I was not quite "on the ball" enough with our FP window. With the change to Sunday's itinerary, our MK day will now be Monday. I got a FP for 7DMT, but I was booking about 20 minutes after the FP window opened and the only Anna & Elsa I could get was for 7:50pm. Our flight home leaves Tampa at 3:55, meaning that we have to leave TTC around 12:30. So...that's not going to work. I'm still holding it at the moment and hoping that something earlier in the day will open up so I can switch the time. If not, we'll swap it for BTMR and try again for the fall. Still kicking myself for not just sucking up the 45 minute wait in Norway last November!!

And we've switched it all around again! The reasoning was that we can stay at DHS later on Monday than we would have been able to stay at MK because of the logistics involved with either boating/monorailing back to TTC or relying on the bus to get us back to BWV in enough time to collect the car and drive to TPA without sacrificing and more park time than necessary. Also, since we'll be back in September, I abandoned the idea of continuing to try for an Anna/Elsa FP. We'll just catch them on the next trip. SO--here's the reasonably firm itinerary:

Saturday
arrive TPA 3:15 (fingers crossed that Frontier is running on schedule)
pick-up rental car and drive to Dolphin, check-in and immediately walk to DHS
get food from...somewhere??
Villains Unleashed party 8pm-1am!!

Sunday
FP for BTMR, Peter Pan, and 7DMT
lunch--maybe Casey's or Pecos Bills (haven't been there in a while), maybe pop downtown to EoS
check-in at BWV and swim for a bit
dinner @ San Angel Inn at 5:30
back to DHS for Frozen Fireworks

Monday
FP for Star Tours, TSM, and VotLM
check out the Frozen Funland stuff (hopefully ice skate) and take pics of Wandering Oaken's Trading post; maybe check out the sing-a-long if time.
lunch--probably one of those mac & cheese hotdogs from Fairfax Faire
Leave for the airport by 1:00 at the latest.

If anyone has alternate counter service suggestions for DHS, I'd love to hear them. I'm not crazy about Backlot or Pizza Planet and I'm ABC-ed-out. I'm so underwhelmed by the food in this park. Anyone have a go-to dish somewhere here that they love?? How's Studio Catering Co? I've never eaten there. I'd walk over to EPCOT for lunch, but with the drive to the airport looming over us like Winnie the Pooh's little black rain cloud, I don't think we can afford the time in the schedule and still do everything that we want to do at DHS. I would gladly forgo Little Mermaid, but depending how long we spend enjoying the Frozen Funland stuff, we may have to cut that anyway. It's likely that we'll be doing two CS meals here.

With as little time as you have on this trip, I would just suck it up and eat less-than-stellar DHS food just to be able to enjoy the park as long as possible. I'm not a big fan of Studios Catering Co., but you might find something you like there. And I agree that the food choices at DHS leave something to be desired.

loving the sound of this plan and deffo eat at DHS its not worth the stress!!! we have been going to backlot express the past few trips but there isn't really anything stand out but you are inside and its air conditioned!!!

We've eaten at the Studios Catering co a few times. We've both only gotten the Spicy buffalo chicken sandwich though. The sandwich is good, but my DH who is a Connoisseur of all buffalo chicken foods, said the sandwich is good but the sauce doesn't taste like buffalo chicken. I get mine w/o the sauce, so I can't say if it does or not.

The sandwich is one of the best we've had at a CS in HS. But unfortunately, that isn't saying much since there are so few good CS options in HS. The sandwich w/ the fries is a good portion size, it's always been fresh and it tastes good. That's as good as you can expect from a CS at HS! If you like fried chicken sandwiches, this is a good choice at HS.

I always eat at Backlot Express (mainly because you can fill your own cup) or ABC Commissary. Not a fan of Pizza Planet or anything on Sunset except for Scoops (haven't been there yet).

I'm so jealous you get to go to this party! I was considering popping down for a long weekend for it, then realized its the day of my cousin's wedding and I don't think she'd understand if I cancelled. I just saw on the link Mandy posted that Bowler Hat Guy will be there! Love Meet the Robinsons, it is a way underrated Disney movie in my opinion.

EmFord, we were almost foiled by a wedding as well. A good friend of mine is getting married the day before the party and it really complicated our flight and reservation situation. I'm actually really nervous about making it on time because we ended up cutting the flight much closer than I would have liked because of having to wait until Saturday to fly.
