Updated for this year! Blondie Goes to Golf Camp 2017!!!

Or as I call it, another excuse to go to Disney World!! laugh laugh yay yay

Well, FastPass day is Wednesday. Now that they have changed the time, I will be sitting in traffic on the way to work when they open. Guess I will have to stop on the side of the road cause I really really want Soaring, Frozen and (hopefully by August) Rivers of Light.

Joe got an email from the golf pro a few months ago about the golf programs they have for kiddos. They have a bunch of day camps that we were thinking about then they sent us the week long camp info!!! It's a really good deal which kind of surprised me. It is 5 days 9a-2p and includes snacks, drinks and lunch. It's $350 and we got a DVC discount. The week long camp we want to put her in here is about the same price. I assumed with the Disney name it would be more. I know they also have a soccer camp (my friend is taking her kids) and I am sure others also!

I chose Old Key West because it was the lowest points and we are saving for the October trip to stay at Animal Kingdom. Blondie is looking forward to the sand castle slide at the pool. We've never stayed here so if you have any tips for this resort, let me know. I actually have a day planned with NO PARK! I am super proud of myself and with the heat, I am sure we are gong to need it.

My rough plans are as follows. FastPass options are the top 3 we each want so we will just have to wait and see what works out and also hop in line for a few I am sure. I plan on being out of the parks by 9 each night as Blondie has full days. There are 3 days that Joe is golfing off property those are the days that I have tours booked!

Can anyone tell me about the Keys to the Kingdom tour??? I booked the 8:30, the website says it is a 5 hour tour, does it run pretty true to time? This is one of the days Joe is golfing off property and I want to make sure I can get to Blondie when camp gets out at 2 if he can't.. I know I will be pushing it. Is lunch the last thing they do? If so, I could probably just cut out a little early.

Sunday July 31 Arrival day

Monday August 1

Joe Golf
Jen Magic Kingdom " Keys to the World Tour 8:30 am
OKW " Olivia's 7:20 pm dinner
Animal Kingdom " Get Fast Pass for Rivers of Light " Everest " Safari (late) After 4 pm

Thursday August 4
Golf Camp 9a-2p
Hollywood Studios Get Fast Pass for TSM " Rock n Roller Coaster " Star Tours After 4 pm

Friday August 5
Golf Camp 9a-2p
Joe Golf
Jen Epcot " Behind the Seeds Tour 10:30 am
Stroll World Showcase Single Rider Test Track
Relax at pool with dinner there or at Disney Springs?

Saturday August 6 Check Out
Epcot " The Garden Grill 9:00 am breakfast
FP Soarin - Test Track - Frozen Ever After

Lots of the thing we have planned are because of you guys and gals!!! Garden Grill (spook) The Plaza (JanJ) Keys to the Kingdom (everyone who has done it lol) So, thanks everyone! It's gonna be hot but we are going to make the best of it! This is the trip I have decided only one breakfast, one lunch and one dinner ADR - I am starting to worry about that but I am sure we will find plenty to eat LOL. We are also bringing snacks, breakfast stuff and drinks for the room.

RE: KTTK tour

We've done this one twice and I'm pretty sure it's the full 5 hrs. The lunch is not the end - if I remember correctly, the last part is the utilidor under Main St USA. You can always sneak out early and just let your tour guide know ahead of time.

Have a great time!

Sounds awesome! I've heard really great thinks about D-Luxe burger so hoping you try that so I can get your review!

Just a heads up that when I made FastPass+ reservations for someone this morning Frozen Ever After and Soarin were both Tier 1 so you will have to pick between those for that day sad

And like Jan said, when I did the Keys to the Kingdom in Sept '14 it ran almost exactly 5 hours and the utilidors were last...lunch was about half way through.

OMG, I HATE the new FP+ selection. One at a time takes FOREVER. And it stressed me out. I liked picking my 3 and the time options showing. Oh and of course I get to work and out server is down.

But I mostly got what I wanted. I am bummed of course that Frozen and Soarin were both tier one. I knew it was going to be that way as I too was playing around with it before hand.

I may still tweak things a bit but so far I have:

Mon 7DMT, Big Thunder Mtn and Haunted Mansion
Tues Frozen and Meet Mickey
Wed Everest, Safari (6:45pm!!!!) and Jungle Book which by August I am hoping for Rivers of Light. I heard JB was kinda lame
Thurs Toy Story Mania and ToT
Fri RnRC
Sat Soarin

Of course they would make Frozen the same tier really? mad

Whooohooo! I can't wait for your review!

This sounds like a fun trip, and any new excuse for a Disney trip sounds like a good one to me.

I'm pretty excited about this one. Joe probably not so much. He refuses to go Mexican with us anymore. Says he is burnt out. laugh laugh

He could care less who it is LOL. I told him about Morimoto's when it was first coming around and he didn't care then who the chef was.... my husband hurts my foodie heart sometimes.

Did you book through Open Table? I got all excited when I saw this and went to try to get something for October. It's not listed on My Disney Experience yet.

Yep! The review I read said it was available on MDE but it's not.

For October I made our STK reservation on Open Table then switched it to MDE when it came open. I like to SEE my plans...

Hey y'all! We made it! We checked in around 2 (got the text our room was ready at 1ish)

We had a very uneventful trip. Our standard stop at the FLorida rest area for OJ, a couple bathroom breaks and Publix for my shakes I have for breakfast. (as I type this I realized I forgot my shaker cup mad )

We skipped check-in and drove straight to our building, unloaded the car and headed for Olivia's. Since we at lunch here, I cancelled dinner for Friday and will find something else.

We are resting a bit now but about to head to Disney Springs by boat. I will be doing another live feed on Facebook on the way!

Pics will get uploaded later!

The heat isn't too bad today, the temp is lower than home and the humidity isn't as high. Hopefully the next few days are the same! crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers

Tomorrow Blondie starts golf camp!
