U.S. Holidays and when to go to WDW

Hi all! I've been trying to figure out when to book in the next few months and realized how hairy it can be trying to avoide the tons of little holidays in the beginning of the year (MLK Day, President's Day, etc...).

This Calendar of US Holidays has been really helpful for planning.

awesome

Agreed that the early year holidays get me all mixed up. And I never know how busy WDW will be... or when things like POP Warner, Jersey Week, or spring breaks happen.

Great idea Bali. awesome

Basically the rule of thumb I follow is: when the kids are in school it's a good time to go to WDW. biggrin

Basically that eliminates the entire summer, which is fine with us since we have no kids nor are we school teachers. yay

I get nightmares thinking about Jersey Week, the cheerleaders, and those huge, usually South American tour groups whose members all wear the same color t-shirt and the guide carrys a large flag. yuck

When we used to go to Six Flags, we'd get so depressed when we got there in the morning and saw a bunch of school buses in the parking lot. Those t-shirts are the equivalent now. At least Disney World is big enough it can swallow up a few tour groups without it becoming unbearable. At Six Flags you knew you were in for lines...

Hi there!

The best times to go expense wise are:

January 1 - February 13
August 3 - October 1
November 28 - December 18

These are times during the value season. And crowds are light during this time too. If you're wondering how I know these dates....I am an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. If you have any other questions please let me know, I'd be happy to help you in any way I can.

Have a magical day!
