Value Resorts

I am planning my Disney trip. I want to find out all that I can about the V resorts.
I will be looking around here & be chatting with you.

Hey, Kevin!

I've stayed at both Pop Century and All-Star Sports and liked them both very much. What specific information are you looking for?

I guess I will start with he food courts. I have seen that some are better than others. How much trouble is it to eat in a food court other than the resort we will be staying at? & how much trouble is it to eat other than the food courts? Is it very far to get dinner away from the food courts? Or is it better to get dinner before returning to the resort.
Thanks

Getting food from the food courts is easy. There are plenty of tables in the food courts, so you can get your dinner and eat it right there. If you prefer to eat in your room, you'll have to carry your food some distance, but they'll pack it up to make it easier to carry. (But if you're talking about food for large family, you'd be better off parking them at a food court table and eating there.)

Eating at other food courts isn't difficult. If you're staying at Pop Century, the Art of Animation food court is across the lagoon via a bridge. At the All-Stars you'd be better off staying at your own food court, but you could walk to a neighboring resort if you wanted to check it out.

If you spend a day at the parks and want to get dinner at another resort before heading back to yours for the night, you'll probably want to go to the dinner destination straight from the park. If you've booked someplace that has a dress code and you want to shower and change clothes, it will be a hassle. First you'll bus from the park to your resort, then bus from your resort to either a park or Downtown Disney, then catch a second bus to the dinner resort. Coming home is the same - bus to DTD or a park and then second bus to your resort. Unless you have a car! Then you just drive wherever you're going.

I have only eaten at two of the food courts in the values. One in POP and the other at AoA, but I did enjoy both. We usually only eat there on the first day and then sometimes for breakfast. All-in-all, it is a bit crowded and nutty at times, but the food is okay and it is easy and convenient. Like CCP said, it is very easy to get to POP from AoA by just crossing over the bridge that connects them.

I always eat dinners out at the parks or another resort just because I like to eat somewhere different for every meal. There are so many great choices, I would hate to limit myself to just to food courts at the resorts. As far as other places besides the food courts, depending on the popularity of the restaurant or the time of day, they can be quite crowded, but it is Disney, so I try to just take everything in stride. You can make dining reservations for Be Our Guest for lunch, which helps a lot and the other QS restaurants do not usually have too bad of a wait.

Very good info from both of you thank you very much. Yeah I dont think that we would want to eat at the all stars every night, a stop somewhere on the way back in the eve may be best. Or stay at AoA or pop rather than the all stars.

I have stayed at Pop, AoA and All Star Sports. You can't go wrong with any of them. My favorite is Pop.
