WDW half marathon logistics?

Does anyone have any advice for spectators? I imagine it will just be my husband heading out that early in the morning, but I'd love to give him specific directions...should he just go with me to Epcot and hop the monorail to MK, then back to Epcot for the finish? My sister in law is running too, so her husband will be out as well.

We're also doing the kids races later that morning for my two youngest girls. Any advice?

It's been years since Mike ran the marathon, but when he ran the kids were little and in a stroller and I remember running all over the place! He didn't have a cell phone, so he just planned his pace and gave me a round a bout time he would pass by some of the places. If he is going to travel from place to place to see you, allow time for travel, there are TONS of people everywhere, which is super cool for the runners. We never had a problem seeing him, but it's crazy watching all the runners go by looking for someone!
We were there today and there are a lot of runners there already (we can tell by their shoes, we always look at shoes around marathon time!)
We are planning on coming up early on Sunday to watch the finish. Is the half Sat. or Sun.? Maybe we can meet up or watch for you to finish, we can come up either day. PM me, but I know it's a crazy time. We love to go watch, brings back tons of memories, Mike ran it 5 yrs in a row, watching the finish is so cool, even if I don't know anyone running. The atmosphere is so exciting!
Good luck and have a great run!!!!!

Thanks, Julie! I think he's going to watch the start, hop the monorail to MK and try to see me there (should take me about 35 minutes, so I hope he makes it!) and then back to Epcot for the finish.

The half is Saturday and I know just what you mean about coming to races...it's so much fun to see people running. I get choked up at every race. I'd love to meet you if you're there that day! Let me know and we can set something up! Smile

There will be spectator suggestions in the race book that they give you. Also, be sure to sign up so that he gets the text updates to your progress!

You're going to have a fantastic time! Good luck!
