So... I couldn't really talk about this on here before hand, but our disneyland paris (dlp) wasn't really for my birthday, I mean it was my birthday but I planed to propose to my girlfriend during the trip, spoiler alert she said yes! Here's how it went down.
So I had been planning this for months I had picked out a perfect ring and made a book in to a ring box. My fiance is a big disney fan but also a Harry potter fan. People call us snape and Lilly and so I wanted the book to have a sort of horcrox feel to it.
We arrived at dlp at 2:30, we were staying on site at the Santa Fe, so we got the shuttle bus and checked in, the hotel is cars themed, it's has just had a big refurb and was super clean and fresh looking. As the hotel is only a 15 minute walk to the park we went straight to disneyland from check in....
Now I was a bag of nerves and wanted it to be just right. My DF had over ideas and wanted to head to fantasyland and hit the rides and so we rode Snow White scary adventure, the park was super empty so every ride was a walk on... I however was getting nervous and needed to pop the question, so I suggested we head back to main street via the castle and there in front of it I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me, she said yes and I can't really remember the rest, we rode pirates and phantom manor.
My parents had arranged for us to have dinner at inventions at the disneyland hotel, it is a really fancy buffet and character dinner which clocks in at a crazy PS70 a head.
I had emailed before hand and told the cast members what I had planned and they promised to make the meal special, I had know idea how amazing it would be.
The French cast members get a hard time but they went above and beyond. On arrival all the other guest were taken to they tables by the waiting team, when it came to our turn we were asked to wait and out of nowhere Mickey appeared took DF by the hand and walked her to out private table. The pathway was covered in rose petals as was the table and we had candles and heart shaped balloons tied everywhere, our table was at a window framing the castle so we could watch the fireworks, it was amazing! The character interaction was amazing and all the staff were great, I had arranged to get some 'just engaged' celebration pins sent from Florida as paris don't have them, wearing these got us a look of attention and congrats during the meal from the Staff and other guest. The whole night was perfect.
On a side note the food was amazing! And we wear even given free glasses of PS27 champaign from the manager. We couldn't have asked for more and were so lucky, it feels like a dream I haven't woken up from....
and really wonderful to hear that the team at DLP went above and beyond what was expected to make sure it would be something you will never forget. xxxx
