Welcome to Suckiness.....

...also known as First Day Back to Work After a Disney Trip....

  • Noone wished me a magical day when I got to work
  • I kept waiting for someone from the security desk in the lobby to say "Welcome Home!"
  • I looked, but noone had any pin lanyards for trading
  • The Help Desk people were not interested in being referred to as Cast Members......
  • There's no FastPass distribution center that will let me go do something else and return to work at a later time
  • I appear to be the only one wearing ears.....awkward.

Sorry Jeff that really is a day of suckiness sad Which set of Mickey ears did you wear to work, maybe that had something to do with it. You know that the wrong ears could set a bad tone for the day, maybe you should wear a different set tomorrow.

I also bet there was not a Mickey waffle to be found either. I do feel for you, the first day back at work is always filled with suckiness. The only cure I have found is to start planning your next trip.

Ouch!! You're right, suckiness ( I think you invented a word too). I just happened to luck out, a few of my friends are actors, so I refer to them as Cast Members, this way I can make believe I'm at Disney, and they can make believe they have jobs,.. see,.. it all works out.

My survival tips included:

1. No eye or vocal contact with my coworkers until after 11:30
2. Most every response to a comment or question contained the word "Dopey".

Example:
Co-Worker: "Jeff, we implemented a new policy while you were out"
Jeff: "That's Dopey"
Co-Worker: "Um, I think you were at Disney too long...."

3. Salty Sailor Language subsided a bit by 3:30, at which time I felt I could answer my phone without spewing long strings of 4-letter naughty words

I like the idea of calling in sick tomorrow. You folks are brilliant!

Awesome job using your words on this, Jeff. Suckiness is a noun. As in "the day was filled with suckiness" or "the suckiness was overwhelming". AND you doubled that with Dopey as both adjective AND noun? Brilliant!

And Salty Sailor Language? Ooooh. . . I love that language. I think it actually qualifies the speaker as bilingual. My Dad, for instance, was Tri-lingual. He could bring it, but You. . . You have mad skills, and incredible fortitude. . . Most of us just wail and gibber incoherently on our first day of Disney Detox.

You know what Jeff. You have inspired me throughout this... On Sundays I p,at other guitar or bass at church... This Sunday... I'm wearing my Mickey Ears. My pirate Mickey Ears. I will not be ashamed of my Mickey Ears! Who cares if no one asks... We know how much of a great time you had, and we love Mickey Ears! Real Men Wear Mickey Ears!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI... I've been sick all weekend and finally saw the doc today. I'm up super late with super awesome cough syrup in me......... Just an FYI.... Lol
