What are some things that you'd like to do at Disney World but can't quite justify the price?

There are quite a few experiences at Disney World, where I suppose we could do them, but it's hard to justify the price. Like I'd love to try the Poly sometimes, but we always find the price so much higher than other deluxes we can't justify it. Some of the tours, like the Segway ones, sound really fun, but I fear if I don't like them Ill have to get up early and spend a bunch of money and not be happy about it.

Are there any things, big or small, that you can almost justify but haven't quite pulled the trigger yet? What about things where you think the price is way out of line? Try to be nice of course. Your "bad deal" is probably someone else's "best value in the parks."

Something I would love to do, but cant justify the price are the Backlot Tours. I would love to do them... but man..... thats a lot of money to check out everything in the back.

A lot of the cruises for fireworks are way overpriced.... and also the fishing tours on Bay Lake. I wanted to take my hubby to do that but i can't justify paying over 200 dollars for a few hours. He would never let me pay that much either.

Definitely the behind the scenes tours. Would love to do them though!

Monorail resorts. Trust me..if I could I would. We can't justify spending hundreds of dollars a night more for the luxury of being on the monorail as apposed to the same quality at AKL. We soo wanted Poly for our honeymoon but the price difference was over 600 dollars. We just thought about how much else we could do with the 600 dollars and skipped it.

Don't get me wrong..they are still a dream of mine!

I would LOVE to take an Illuminations cruise or to stay at AKL but it's just not in our budget.

I struggle with the costs of the deluxe resorts - I just have a hard time with that one. Of course, I LOVED the Beach Club when we stayed there, but it will few few and far between before we stay at one again. The cost difference is a years' worth of "I'm Special and Deserve This" Disney gifts! At least! stars

I think the Backlot tours and the safari trek also are hard for me to spend the money on. But look out when I win the PowerBall or MEgaMillions.... awesome

I would love to do the AK Trek - I'm still dreaming about that snack! - but it's just too much. And I'm with the others on the $$ for monorail or deluxes - although with all the talk about the pool at Yacht and Beach, I'd really like to stay there sometime (plus I love, LOVE the easy access to Epcot. Very magical, just walking right through the "back" gate and into World Showcase.)

I was also intrigued with some of the New Year's Eve dining packages, like the California Grill one...but I think it was crazy expensive, like $500-600 per person. My DH thought that was completely INSANE, even for Disney.

The first part of that I thought... wow... to spend New Years Eve at Disney, and have a Dining Package to boot... that would be awesome to do... and then I saw the price your quoted and decided that I would much rather sit at home and watch the ball drop on my tv....

Sounds like a plan! I told my fiance I want a "babymoon". I have always wanted to stay at AKL and eat at nice restaurants but it hasn't been in the cards so I made him promise that we would take one last extravaganza trip before kids and go all out. After that it will be all character meals our next trip (which I don't mind at all, either!)

I really enjoyed the Backstage Magic tour and I'm very glad I did it.. but.. to be honest, if I didnt get my 50% CM discount, I probably wouldnt have done it.

What I struggle with.. is like everyone else said.. which resort to stay at. I really just want to stay one time at the Grand Floridian! But even with my 50% CM discount I cant justify it!! So we just go eat there instead. lol

Bella,

Just wanted to add this perspective on going for a monorail resort, that I see as a justified expense....Or even Beach/Yacht/Boardwalk location.

It may be more money, but calculating expense in dollars per hour spent on property it is actually beneficial money-wise to go for Beach/Yacht/Boardwalk location when considering down time on and waiting for buses at other resorts and how that leads to getting to activities earlier and more refreshed.
Therefore, I feel like I am getting more for my money that way...

The bus ride isn't horrible, but I'll take the safari over it! Smile

I see the payback in spending more money...but that's just me...just wanted to throw that thought out there...

We got an amazing AP deal at GF last Feb. With your discount, I think it would be worth checking into...AND we got upgraded to Club Level! It was fantastic.

I think it would be really cool to do the Richard Petty Driving Experience, but it is a little pricey for me...not too expensive, but still more than I want to spend on an experience that lasts maybe 15-20 minutes.

I totally understand that perspective and wish I could join your group! Trust me!

For me it's more of a "don't stay there & get to go once every year or two years" or "stay there and go every 4 years".

staying onsite at the min is out of our budget, though we are saving up for a our on site stay next year for Sy's 30th birther, looking at 4 or 5 nights at a mid like POR. I would love to try chef's table and Victoria & Albert but could never pay that much when i'm such a fussy eater

the only way we are able to do this on our next trip is by teaming up with another family on our next trip so we split the costs, its costing us $40 each including tip!

That's one of the reasons we've hesitated too. DW is a bit of a picky eater and we both always wonder if we'll enjoy it in proportion to the price.

I also can't justify concierge except for AKL so I can do the sunrise safari. Otherwsie, I can do breakfast cheaper and we're hardly at the resort at dinner time for appetizers, etc. I don't see the point in it, even if we were in more, it just seems so overpriced for what you are getting.
