What are you MOST looking forward to?

A lot of you are going on vacations in May, some later in the year, but it seems like a lot of folks have a trip scheduled soon.

What are you most looking forward to on that trip? Is there a particular meal, a special occasion, a ride, an event?

I'm just jealous and want to live in anticipation along with you! yay mickey

For me just being there is great. Walking into each park for the first time is also a highlight. Splash Mountain, POtC, and Spaceship Earth are tops on my list. I am Really looking forward to the new resort (CBR) too.

How'd you settle on CBR? You usually do Pop Century right? What about CBR edged out Port Orleans and Coronado Springs?

We put a lot of thought into it. We first decided it would be one of the 4 mod resorts so we started there.

We ruled out PO Riverside because that's where I spent my honeymoon with my FIRST wife.

POFQ Is a consideration for a future trip but it just doesn't appeal to out taste as much as the other 2.

CS was actually our first choice. We loved the theming and the pool. However after some resurch we learned that It had a conference center and we thought people there on business would ruin the atmosphere. Also because of this the Cafe has a 10 percent automatic gratuity. and finally after looking at some pics online the buildings look really plain. It just seemed like too much buisness and not enough Disney.

CBR Has everything we want Theme, Great pools, Beach, lakes and cool looking room buildings.

The automatic 10% gratuity is a pain--especially since they don't really do much for you to earn it (it's a cafeteria style place).

I love CSR, but I really think you'll like CBR, too. They've done a great job with making it feel like a real "retreat."

I'm looking forward to the whole thing!

But, I am particularly looking forward to our Day Off since we never do that. We'll be doing Typhoon Lagoon, maybe Blizzard Beach too - we'll see. Then we're having dinner at House of Blues, which I have never had before, and then doing a movie at the AMC24. After the movie, we're going to Ghiridellis for an Ice Cream before heading "home" to bed at the Dolphin.

It just sounds like a fun day because it's so different than what we usually do.

I have never been to CBR, but I loved CSR. It's a gorgeous resort. I was never bothered by convention people at all. Many of the Disney resorts are convention resorts, including GF, Y&B, Contemporary, Swolphin..... Not remotely an issue at any of them. Pepper Market was good enough that I didn't mind the 10% at all. I think you can dispute it if it really bothers you. I'm pretty sure I have read about people doing that.

One of my friends LOVES CBR - it's her favorite resort. When she talks about it, it makes me want to go there.

I think all the auto-gratuities are negotiable. We have the Tables in Wonderland card that adds the auto tip and a CM mentioned that if you have bad service you can mention it to the manager and get it removed. Not that I'd probably ever do that, nor complain at CSR. It's nice to know you have the option though.

I am most looking forward to the weather! It better be nice and sunny!!! yay

Of rides, I am most looking forward to trying EE, since that wasn't open last time I went.
Park I am most looking forward to is Epcot.

I am staying at CSR, and I chose it because it's a convention hotel (and also the pictures I've seen of it are just beautiful)--I figure more adults, fewer children, works for me. It won't bother me a bit if they're all working, as long as I'm not! yay

I'm really looking forward to taking a few days off of work, trying out some new restaurants (Sanaa and Shula's mostly), and going to the Food and Wine festival!

I have to admit to doing that myself. There's also a little thing I do with clenching my hands into little fists & shaking them around in the air.....DH just shakes his head & laughs at me. silly The Wishes Cruise would definately cause such a reaction, Lucky You!

SpaceAce - I'm terrible with dates from tickers - when are you going for Food & Wine? We'll be there somewhere around Oct 21-28, give or take a few days.
Have you been to F&W before? It's the BEST time of year to go, IMHO. DH & I decided to try go every year for it. We had to miss last year (got a new dog instead) I can't wait til they release the special event details so I can plan which events to go to.

We're leaving on the 2nd (as it stands), so we'll be there for the early part of the festival. We absolutely love going during the fall. It's a toss-up for which we like better: fall or Christmastime, but with the MNSSHP and F&W, it's tough to beat Disney in October!

Are you going to MNSSHP??

Sorry Marzyar! Isn't it nice to walk out of MCO airport into mild temperatures after a winter of freezing your butt off??

It is VERY nice. The only problem we ever had was last year it was very cold here and when we got there it was 95-98 all week. The sudden changed really zapped us and we had to take it very slow, we have tried to prepare for that this year.

Ah, yes. I remember you mentioning that. How have you prepared? Planned lots of days by the awesome CBR pool? By the way, I can't remember if you requested a certain village or not?

I have been walking every day building up my stamina and exercising regularly. I also have Earplanes to avoid the headache I usually get flying. It has been cold here which doesn't help so I m hoping for mid 80's during the trip.

Today marks T-10 before the trip so we will be checking in online tonight and will request Jamaica near the bridge.

We plan to hit the pools and rent some Searays for a little water fun.

Rent them in Seven Seas Lagoon or do they have them at CBR?

CBR dose have them but we are thinking 7 Seas or Bay lake for more open water.

Question: 7 Seas and Bay Lake are connected, can you take the boats between the lakes? or is that official boats only?

You can go between them. You have to do it slowly because the connectors are "no wake zones" but it's no problem to go back and forth.

You also need to make sure to do Bay Lake/7 Seas Lagoon because most of the fun on the Sea Raycers is jumping the big boat's wake!

Cool, Ill have to remember to try that activity. If you get too close to the bigger boats do they shew you off? I betting you get the rules read to you when you rent the boat. We may make this a day 1 activity before we go eat at Ohana.

I think going over the "water bridge" between Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon is awesome. It's a quintessentially Disney experience mickey

They do read you the rules, and there are "water safety guys" out there to yell at you if you do anything too crazy. Plus, you're avoiding the ferry boats, boat launches between MK and GF/Poly/WL, etc., so you do have to be careful.

That said, you can have a lot of fun out in the sea raycers--especially if you have all of Seven Seas and Bay Lake to explore. That's a perfect activity before 'Ohana!!!

T-10..... Awesome! awesome

The water mice are the best on Bay Lake/ 7 Seas. The other resorts set the regulators lower. Much Fater on Bay/7

We probably won't do MNSSHP. When Gary & I go alone for F&W, we often don't even make it into MK at all. We're always so busy in Epcot & I insist on some AK time. I miss MK a little on those trips, but I know I'll be back.

Can't they throw you in Disney-jail for not visiting the MK on a WDW trip?

Well, I don't "officially" have a trip planned, but I'm still hoping for September and October. If that pans out, what I'm most looking forward to is taking an entire day to veg out by the pool, then go to MNSSHP!!!
